Disclaimer: Sadly, I do not own any of the characters that you recognize in this story. If I did, they would all be happy and Buffy and Angel would never have broken up. If Joss is ever interested in selling though, well, I’d be more that happy to take Angel off his hands.  Oh, and the concept belongs to the people behind You've Got Mail.
Feedback: Yes! I cannot stress this enough. I need my feedback!!! So read this fic, then tell me how much you loved it.
Part 3

The next day, 4:00pm

Buffy entered her dorm room, then looked around. Willow wasn’t there. *Good,* she thought, rushing over to the computer. She quickly turned it on and logged on to the net.

Soon she was in her hotmail mailbox. She smiled, there was a new message in her inbox from Irish1753@aol.com, it said. She quickly opened it.

<<Hi Claddagh,

I enjoyed chatting with you yesterday. Since you suggested that we e-mail each other, I’m doing just that. You know, I never had the chance to mention it yesterday, but did you know that claddagh rings are an Irish tradition? Considering that you chose it as your handle, I’m going to assume that you know the whole history behind them. Actually, it was one of the reasons I invited you into the chat. I was just thinking, we probably shouldn’t include any specifics in our e-mails, that way it doesn’t become too personal, if you know what I mean.

Bye, Irish>>

Buffy quickly hit reply.

<<Hey Irish!

Well, I’m glad that u liked chatting with me, I had fun 2. I knew that claddagh rings were Irish, but I don’t know the history behind them. Care 2 tell me? It’s exchanged as a symbol of devotion, right? Heart pointing in means you belong 2 somebody? I like the idea of not sharing specifics in our e-mails. So no names, specific places, pictures, or stuff like that, right?>>

She turned as she heard the door open. Willow. She quickly finished up.

<<I’ve got to go. E-mail me back! Bye!

~Claddagh>>

Within seconds she had logged off and was in Microsoft Word, with her project up on the screen.

"Hi, Buffy!" Willow said happily as she walked into the room. "What are you doing?"

"Um, I’m just proofing my project…but I’m done now," Buffy hastily explained. She didn’t want Willow thinking she had gone all techno or anything. *And Will would probably try to convince me to ask him to meet him for dinner or something.*

"Oh good!" Willow exclaimed.

"Yeah…why?"

"Well, I was in the cafeteria at lunch with Oz, and this guy joined us. His name is Riley, he’s really nice," Willow said. "So we were talking and we-we said that we should go to the movies on a d-double date tonight."

"Have fun," Buffy replied absent-mindedly as she turned the computer off.

Willow sighed. "You don’t get it. Double, as in Oz and I, and you and Riley."

Buffy’s head shot up at that. "No!" She exclaimed.

"But Buffy, we already invited him and everything. It would be really rude for us to tell him that you can’t come now," Willow told her.

"Uninvite him."

"What?"

"Look, Will, I know that you want to see me dating some other guy, but I don’t want to. I’m not ready yet…" she trailed off, then continued. "I’m not sure I ever will be."

"I-it doesn’t have to be a big deal date…it could be a, a friendly date," Willow suggested hopefully.

"Sorry, Will."

"Buffy, you need to get out more. Now I’ve got my resolve face on. You are going to go out tonight," Willow told her firmly.

"Forget it," Buffy told her. "That’s not going to happen. Not tonight."
