Buffy's Got Mail

Disclaimer: Sadly, I do not own any of the characters that you recognize in this story. If I did, they would all be happy and Buffy and Angel would never have broken up. If Joss is ever interested in selling though, well, I’d be more that happy to take Angel off his hands.  Oh, and the concept belongs to the people behind You've Got Mail.
Feedback: Yes! I cannot stress this enough. I need my feedback!!! So read this fic, then tell me how much you loved it.
Part 6

Sunnydale, 10:00pm

"That was a nice movie, wasn’t that a nice movie?" Willow asked excitedly.

"It was of the good," Oz said with a nod.

"If you believe in happy endings," Buffy said.

Riley laughed. "I believe in happy endings," he said with a smile.

"I don’t," Buffy stated flatly.

Riley smiled at her. "Does that mean that I should try to convince you?"

Buffy sighed. "There’s only one happy ending for me, and you can’t make it happen," she muttered.

"Sorry, I missed that. Come again?" Riley said.

"Go ahead," Buffy said. "Convince me."

Los Angeles

Angel was in an alley, in full game face. He was holding another vampire against the wall by the throat. He pulled a stake out of his duster and staked the vamp. It exploded into dust.

"Boring," Cordelia trilled.

"If you hate this so much then why do you come?" Angel asked her.

"Hey, I can care for humanity too, you know," she said haughtily.

He sighed. "So how did the audition go?" He asked her, changing the subject.

"How do you think it went?!" She spat out angrily. "If things keep going this way I’m going to be stuck working in your stupid agency thing forever!"

"I thought you wanted to care for humanity."

"Well yeah, but I have needs too, you know!" Cordelia answered him. "God, some people!"

Angel looked at her but said nothing.

She glared at him. "Don’t you look at me like that," she said threateningly.

"Why don’t you go home, Cordelia," Angel groaned. "See if Doyle is there, ask him if he’s heard anything."

"Why do I have to be the one to talk to that annoying twerp?" Cordelia whined.

Angel gave her a look.

"I’m going already, God!"

Angel sighed as he watched her walk away. It was going to be a long night.

Sunnydale College Campus

Buffy, Willow, Oz, and Riley were standing in a group outside, quiet. Willow and Oz were holding hands, and Riley was standing just a bit too close for Buffy’s liking.

She took a step back. "I’ve got to bail," she said.

"Why?" Willow asked

"Well, I have, um, class tomorrow. So I should go, you know, with class and all."

Willow raised an eyebrow at her, but didn’t say anything. Oz remained expressionless as usual.

Riley nodded, swallowing. "Okay, bye, Buffy. I had fun, it was really nice meeting you."

"Uh," Buffy paused a second, registering what he said. It meant that he wanted to see her again. Not good. "Yeah, real fun. Bye!" With that she turned and ran.

Riley watched her go. "Well," he said, turning back to Willow and Oz. "I should probably go to. Bye."

"You don’t have to go…" Willow started, then sighed. "Okay, bye, Riley. Thanks for coming. It was fun."

"Later," Oz said as Riley walked away.

Oz took Willow’s hand. "Let’s go to that new café?" She asked with a smile. He smiled back and nodded.
