In troubed Democratic Republic of Congo Mark Gunn, adventurer, peace maker and inventor of the B&H pub toilet slalom has launched an innovative peace bid. Gunn is gambling on bringing goverment and rebel factions together with the promise of a fun-fair. Clad in a courdroy pith helment, Gunn explains :

"there are many issues facing the Congolese - communications, infrastructure, lack of foriegn direct investment and so on...but the crux of the matter as I see it is a lack of entertainment for the kids in the tricky part of St. Stephen's Day. You know, after the turkey but before 'The Italian job'". Faced with a lack of support from Co. Clare's main traveller families Gunn has had to get innovative. Rather than actually organise, and pay for , international attractions like Fossett's circus or David Copperfield, Gunn decided to improvise , making ready use of the tools at hand.
