Former IDA heavyweight Ivan McCullough faces a firestorm of criticism this morning following the presentation of his paper 'Monaghan - a way out'. McCullough, at a press conference at the back of Abra-Kekabra in Dubin's South King Street, made his case for the forcible succesion of one of the Republic's most North Middeley counties.

McCullough attributes recent job losses in the 'Hole of the North' to a regional crisis in education. "I just can't understand what they're yabbering on about" (he explains) , "although they're good people" ...."apart from all the buggery and looting."

Local people , outraged at the content of his strategic plan made the case for Monaghan quoting recent sporting successes on the local and national stages. McCullough denounced the speaker, claiming that his facts were 'innacurate and badly spelled'. He also accused Monaghan of selling the ball in recent football and hurling Championships. "They keep selling the ball to relatives", he explained.

He summarises his own position on the long-term future of Monaghan as as putting a great big bomb under the ****er. See accompanying Figure :
