The Legend X Book

MegaMan X General Tips

There are many things that hold true to the MegaMan X series, no matter what. You'll find general playing tips for teh X series on this page along with extra tips for each specific game(note that I only include the games I personally own. I've played and beaten all of the X games, but without owning the game, It's hard to make anything about the game specifically.) Also remember that while reading these tips, soem are my own opinion, and you don't hav eot follow the tips at all. Plus, keep in mind that these tips are on teh X Series, not the orginal series(Ex:MegaMan 8.)

General Playing Tips-

  1. Always check your surroundings. You never know when a bottomless pit isn't bottomless, it may be a hidden passage. You can also never can tell if climbing a wall'll lead you to a secret or not. Just check every place of every area. You're sure to find something.
  2. Remember you dash! Depending on teh armor, you can dash in the air, increasing your mobility. This is especially good wiht bosses. Even if you don't have the air-dash, you can always dash and jump, increasing the speed and length of your jump.
  3. Keep your gun charged at all times. Who knows what might be lurking around teh corner. If you're gonna fight somin', you might as well start wiht a powerful blow!
  4. Any sub tanks you have, keep them charged when going into hard levels. If you're at the end of the game(uh...ususally you fight Sigma, I don't think there is a game in the series you don't fight him in the end), and you have no sub tanks full, you'll probably want to bang you head on a table, considering how long it took to get there. Just keep that in mind.
  5. Last but not least, anything suspicious, like a crack in a wall, could be a secret. So try your special weapons. Charge em' too. Your special weapons aren't there to look cute or just to beat the bosses. Use them on anything suspicious. You'd be surprised.

Game Specific Tips

      MegaMan X4 Specific Tips

    • This is the first game where you can choose characters. You have to choose either X or Zero to start the game, and finish it with. I found it easier with Zero from the start, but it got a lot harder. Overall, you'll want to play the game the first time with X.
    • With X's Arm upgrade, you get a choice between either one that shoots four consecutive charged energy shots, or a plasma charged shot. I prefer the plasma, since after shooting an enemy, a small energ ord stays tere for a little bit. So if the enemy can't or doesn't move the time it's there, it'll just causing damage to the enemy.
    • In Dragoon's stage, if you can keep your armor in tact long enough, when you get ot the edge of a wall, you can actually destroy and go through it until you reach Dragoon(You can actually fight him with the armor!!!!) Of course, the armor'll breaks soon, but you can take out about half his life with teh armor.

      MegaMan X5 Specific Tips

    • It says this in the game, but if it's your first time playing, choose X as the person you start out with. You get the armor from teh previous game(called Force ARmor in Book, Fourth Armor in Game.) You'll probably need the armor unless you're REALLY good.
    • If you see something suspicious, and can't reach teh area. Use one of teh armor's(you haveto find the parts first!). Falcon to fly around, and the other to walk on spikes.
    • Since it's time-based gameplay, you'll want to beat all the levels first and stop the clock before searching for the parts. It's just a suggestion, of course. You can always let the colony crash and beat it with the "evil" Zero.
    • There's a new feature to this game that shoulda came a long time ago. You can duck! Now you can dodge a lot more things and shoot enemies that are lower to the ground than you. If found the duck helpful wiht many of the bosses.
