The Legend of Zelda, NES 1986 |
![]() |
The game that started the series, in this you had to recover the 8 pieces of the triforce of wisdom and embark on your journey to defeat Ganon. It was also one of the first games to have a built in save feature. This allowed you to turn your NES off and come back when ever you wanted. |
The Legend of Zelda 2 -The Adventure of Link, NES 1987 |
![]() |
The second and probably the worst of all the Zelda games, because it was a sideview game and not like Zelda 1 or 3 where it was overhead, it also had more platform elements in it. It also was more like a proper RPG with levelling up and a difficult battle system, not true to the Zelda formula. The story goes that at the start Link was attacked by moblins, they took his blood to ressurect their evil king Ganon. link also had to save Zelda from a deep sleep by returning six crystals yo their palaces. |
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, SNES 1991 |
![]() |
The third installment in the Zelda series, and arguably the best! It starts off when link has a dream, where princess Zelda uses her telepathic powers to contact Link the hero of time and rescue her.... This is a amazing game and is unique in that it has a light and dark world. This is my personal fave Zelda game! |
The Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening, GameBoy 1993, GameBoy Color 1998 |
![]() |
This first came out for the original GameBoy in 1993, and used similar but inferior graphics to Zelda3. In this adventure Link is shipwrecked on an Island called Kohilint. As you began to search for your sword and shield an owl tells you that you must awaken the wind fish, which dwells in the massive egg tot he top of the island. Awakening this is the key to getting off the Island. |
The Legend of Zelda:Ocarina of Time, N64 1998 |
![]() |
It took its time coming but when it did, boy was it worth the wait. It came after five years since the last Zelda, which was for the GB this being links first N64 outing. In the official timeline for Zelda this comes first and it takes a young link who starts his journey thinking he is a fairy kid. But soon realises hes from hyrule. He sets out on a journey with princess Zelda, and even goes 7 years in time. This is similar in a way to Zelda 3's light and dark worlds. This is a truly monster title and is perfect in almost every way. |
The Legend of Zelda:Majoras Mask N64 2000 |
![]() |
To many people including me this game was unexpected, especially as Nintendo usually take ages making their games. I really liked this game as it gave a fresh approach to the Zelda world. The start of the game involved Link getting Epona and his Ocarina stolen from the skull kid. So Link goes in search of them and gets warped into a land called termina. The game only had four main dungeons, as well as having many mini ones. But the game had lots of side quests to get all the masks and such. This made the game stand out from other Zeldas, it may not be the best but it is a very good game indeed. As you progress through the game you find out that Skull Kid is being used as a puppet by the Mask of Majora. |
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons & Oracle of Ages |

These two titles were released simultaneously, with a kind of link up feature not disimilar tp the pokemon games. These two games were done by nintendo in conjunction with Capcom. These two games feature graphics similar to Links Awakening with some added cool animation sequences. In oracle of ages Link fiddles about with the triforce and is sent accidently to a distant land named Labyrnna. In The Oracle of Seasons it is similar but instead of being sent to a land across the sean named Labyrnna he is sent to Holodrum. In the two games there are a total of 64 rings to collect. |
