Annual Sunset Flag Ceremony 2002

Our family has been taking Dad's casket flag down to Sunset Beach for the Sunset Flag Ceremony every year on the anniversary of his birthday for twelve years. This is the first year I can recall that it did not rain or threaten to rain.

Craft Show at the Hereford Lighthouse

On Saturday, July 13th, Connie & Jackie participated in one day of the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse Summer Series Craft Show. We arrived the day before. It was a pleasent drive down, but we paid for the pleasent on craft show day!! We got up at 4:00 AM, arrived before six (the event was advertised to crafters as first come first served) and found a corner, only to be told somebody had taken the space. We later discovered that this was just some crafter who had been doing this show for years, and decided that he could just have someone put a chair in his favorite spot, so that he didn't have to arrive early. Live and learn!! The set up was quite difficult and once done, I had to park quite a distance away. It all turned out for the best however, as old friends had the spot next to us, and some very nice crafters were on the other side. It was very hot, and mom and I were soon wilting, but perked up with visits from Angela, her friend Jill, Debbie, Heather, and Kyle. Here are some photos.
