Three fourths of this dead novelty item are sitting in this room. I, for one, am wary of leaving KC's house. There is black ice, and it's still falling; the snow, it is amazing. Tonight it isn't limited to pools and piles on the ground. Dust-like powder was lifted on each whisper of air that moved across the road in front of the van -we must have been going less than five miles per hour the whole way here- and swirled about in tiny, white clouds that shone white and yellow under the streetlights. I have never seen snow so dry.
Someday soon, if all goes well, I would like to have a site for my solo project [as Aaron and Jake do] where I can post whatever I want [trite semi-poetic free-writes] and dates for shows I'll be playing.
Happy New Year Homies. Lo Fi lives on in 2004, on a couple scratchy cassette tapes, and in the dust of it's former fans and members dead, exfoliated skin.
Yeah that's right. And like I said, the snow is amazing. I really enjoy it.

Yo yo! I'm not sure who all still visits Lo-Fi's site but if you are doing so now you'll be the informed one amongst your friends because - the Masquerade and Murder The Cat are both playing open mic at the Matrix this week! Sweet sassy malassy, that's so many Lo-Fi kids all playing music for all y'alls! Be there or... do something else. It would be in our best interest if you came to see us though. Hey, maybe it's in your best interest as well? I mean, what else is there to do on a Thursday night in the "Twin Cities?"
-Aaron
11.24.'03--
Hi everybody. Thanks Lisa for the birthday present, heee. We all miss you, where ever you are. Err, anyway, I came to say that in case anyone didn't get the obvious clue yet, Lo-Fi is pretty well out of commision at this point. It would be a rare occurance to see us play again.
But all the members of Lo-Fi are still taking their own paths musically I guess. Aaron I think has started a solo project where he has a few people play with him now and then. It sounds pretty folk-like, ya ya. I will be playing with him, Lily and Dustin the thursday after Thanksgiving at the Matrix. I got a sampler a while back and I've just gotten the main jist of how to use it. I should be playing solo electronic music at the Matrix next thursday as well, probably after Aaron's hooplah. I also have a solo show February 20th, where I'll be doing stuff on my sampler. I told Cricket to annouce me as "Murder the Cat," so I guess thats officially the name of my solo... err... stuff, yea? Lily is doing alot of stuff with Guitars and Keyboards, and I think also has a solo show sometime in December. I dunno what Lisa is up to musically though. I'm assuming it's something really funky and hip.
I'm thinking next year I might go to England and be an exchange student, I just got some papers about where to get information today. Pretty exciting. If I make a website for my new solo crap, I'll post it on here sometime. Bye eeeverybody! Mmmwah.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAKIE!
We love you!

Man, I've tried updating this sooo many times. My mom's computer is insane and won't let me update from it. So I'm on KC's computer now hoping to be able to link this song I've had uploaded for about a month. Fingers crossed...it worked!!!
-Aaron
9.16.'03--
I was just uploading a few more pictures and thought it would be cool to post Lo-Fi art made by our fans. So if you're bored out of your skull, make us something. Hopefully we'll collect enough to put up a fan art section.
-Aaron
9.14.'03--
So we practiced... hee. We might be practicing once? Maybe twice more this week? I'm so glad we're finally at least doing something now. I'd imagine our first show we might be a bit rusty, but I'm sure our hardcore to death fans will love us just the same. Hah... ooh...
-Jake
9.12.'03--
Hello kids it is I... I bring you information regarding the infamous show. Yes it is true, we are to make our glorious comeback. So check it out mo-fo. You can finds all the goods located on the right hand side of this screen in the link that says "we play SHOWS?" Yeah so go there then go to the show...k. I'll check you cats later!
-Lisa
9.11.'03--
So from what I've heard, Lo-Fi has a show the 19th of september. Errr... Thats about all I've heard, I'm not sure where its at or anything. Aaron had told me that Lisa had said something about it. Lily should be coming down this weekend to practice with us. We'll have a week to prepare, which should be more than plenty of time to get our old stuff down. I somehow doubt we'll be able to get any new songs down though, which disappoints me, I feel full to the brim with new songs. Meewerr, I'm happy Lo-Fi is starting again.
-Jake
9.08.'03--
Hey kids. It's been forever since I've updated, so I thought I should. You might be wondering, "what has happened to our beloved Lo-Fi-tastic wonders?" Well, worry not, me and Aaron went up this previous weekend and visited Lily, so we should be in pretty good touch with her. As for Lisa, I haven't seen her in about 2-3 weeks. I'm starting to wonder if shes dead. Sometime we'll have to contact her, but once we talk to everyone, we should be getting back on track in a few... uhh... weeks? Maybe?
As for me, I've been back at the high school again, hoi. I've been glad that my graduated friends have been frequently visiting me at lunch time.
We hope everyone is still having a wonderful time, musically.
P.S. I stabbed punk rock, greeegee...
-Jake
9.03.'03--
I put up a few pictures in our new photographs page. I just found them laying around and decided to put them up. I'm sure we'll get some new, better pictures once we're back in the Lo-Fi groove thang. PLUS, once I get a tape of us from Lisa I'll encode some MP3s for y'all. Enjoy the fruits of my boredom. -Aaron
9.01.'03--
I know some kids are worried about how elusive Lo-Fi has been lately but I do assure you that it is only temporary. You see, Lily has been at Buring Man and will start to train for Ameri-Corps next week for which she will move to Olympia. So we're just waiting for Lily to get settled in and we'll start back up with the rock-out-with-yer-cock-out jams. Even though we are not practicing as a band currently, we're all still writing stuff that we'll put together with Lo-Fi as soon as possible. Worry not ye children, us not performing is hurting us more than you I'm sure. I mean, my ego's feeling it...and it hurts...[cough]. -Aaron
8.19.'03--
Doesn't much look like Lily can play Open Mic this week but Jake and I really want to play so if we can get Lisa to pratcie with us, the three of us will play. If not, at least Jake will play. Well, I'm watching the Olsen Twins on teevee so I have to go dig into my face with a spoon (they're so terrible). -Aaron
8.18.'03--
It seems like it's been so long since we've played, because of the lack of open mic in the past week. I'm going to try and talk to everyone about doing a show this thursday before Lily leaves to burning man. I'm thinking its pretty unlikely we all will be able to come, but if not, I certainly will do a solo performance, and I'm unsure if Aaron or Lisa would want to do anything. But it is guaranteed there will be some activity from one of us at the Matrix this thursday. -Jake
8.12.'03--
On another note, turns out thursdays street performance will be canceled, because Lily unfortunately has been rendered preoccupied with packing/preparing for a wedding(?)/and burning man. I talked to Lisa and we decided we wouldn't have enough to play if we played on the street. So thats that, open mic is a maybe for us next week. Stay tuned.....? -Jake
8.11.'03--
This week there is no open mic at the Matrix, so to fill in the emptiness of not playing each week, we've decided to walk around on the streets a part of the day thursday. It'll be entertaining I'm sure. There is no real distinct place that were gonna be at, but if you wander... uhh, maybe downtown you might see us? Maybe? Whizz.
On an unfortunate note, my guitar the 5 minutes before we played at Borst Park began to fall apart, as the input plug-in fell into the guitar. Later long, skinny armed Aaron was successful at pushing it back into the hole for the device as I screwed it back in. Its now in ship shape once again. I would imagine alot of the songs we're gonna be playing on the streets will be very quiet, as we have no was to plug ourselves into amps. Either we will change a few of our old songs to be street playable, or we may use a few of our newer songs where theres mainly acoustic guitar. We'll find something. -Jake
8.7.'03--
So I'm back from Costa Rica now. Although with Lily busy with a few things the past few days we have been rendered unable to practice temporarily. It should be no problem for August 8th though, we're gonna review our old stuff the day of the show, we really just need to refresh our memories. So instead of all of us playing today, it will just be me accompanied by Lisa on tambourine and egg shakers (shake-a shake-a shake-it). I'm gonna be doing Modest Mouse covers, and 1 original. Lately I've been in love with Modest Mouse, they're beautiful. Anyways, things might be winding down in the next few weeks, and we might be playing less often, but we'll still be around, and playing now and then for sure.
On a side note, I learned a few things while in Costa Rica. Two Costa Ricans + me + a twin sized bed = Like playing twister while in a knife fight. Never try it.... ever. -Jake
8.3.'03--
Unfortunately, we haven't been living and breathing Lo Fi like we ought to. Aaron is back from California, and he needs an introduction to the new material as well as some review over the old. We hope to claim Lisa tomorrow for at least a couple hours so we can get things moving. That way we'll be ready for Jake when returns from his Costa Rican love fest [I'm sure those vaccination shots are coming in handy].
Well, yes...sorry for the lack of activity the past few days, or week, whatever. I've been too busy with my packing/moping about & whatnot, I don't know about everyone else. We'll be better about it this week, I promise. -Lily
7.25.'03--
God dammit, it turns out I'm coming back from Costa Rica very late on the 6th, giving us one day to practice before open mic the next day, and a spectacular two days to practice before the August 8th Borst Park thing. It really wont be too hard, we just have to go over our old stuff, but its just I thought I would be coming back earlier. Either way, we still will be playing, hee.
Open mic last night went very well. It felt like we were very organized, and we even had some neeew material, yippee. I can't wait for the saturday shows, they'll be car-razee. Yesterday a guy was talking to Lily, who could apparantly be able to possibly book us a show in Olympia? Or something? It would definitely be something to look forward to, wee waa.
Aaron made a new blog, you should all check it out. -Jake
7.23.'03--
Holy crap, we have a new update on shows. We will be having two shows on saturday. At 11-4, we will be playing at some point for battle of the bands, and at 8pm that night, we will be opening for Locust Street Taxi, Aaron English Band, and Ted Dancin' Machine. Its gonna be really crazy. We also have an open mic to play at tomorrow. Until then, we will be literally practicing all day thursday, and a part of wednesday. We have some new songs we really have to get down and fine tuned. We did fairly well at it yesterday, by thursday we should be a mean machine... or a hot hot robot.... either.. one?
On a side note, I have to get a hepatitus b shot, in the ass, to go to costa rica. Although I hate shots, I was contemplating trying to get pictures for this one, and putting them somewhere in our CD or tape cases, hahah. Oh man, that'd be funny, mmm. I really doubt the doctor would want pictures to be snapping or what not when giving me a shot though. Meeeh, who knows. -Jake
7.22.'03--
Today we begin practicing for Saturday and Thursday. Oooh, man, we're so dumb not to do this in advance, oiiiiii... Oh well, we'll just have to really haul ass on practices. We've done it before. One of our two Magnificent logo artists is going back to Arizona for a while. Im sad, weeeen. So long. -Jake
7.21.'03--
Happy birthday Lisa. Muchos muchos grande pantusos. Mmmm, yes. Yarrrr. Yeeeeee. Im the only one in the band who still is illegal, much to the dismay of Jerry. -Jake
7.21.'03--
Today's my birthday! I'm legal if you know what I mean- wink, wink.
check ya! -Lisa
7.20.'03--
So Jake and I played at Leon's tonight (actually last night) it went "o.k." I guess. Personally I think we are allot better with all of us, stage presence and all. I don't know, eh. Everyone in the world should come to the Matrix on Saturday the 26th, It's gonna be kick ass.
p.s. I'm going to get my tattoo
tomorrow I'll take pictures and put
them here so everyone can see.
Wa-hoo! Check ya ! -Lisa
7.16.'03--
There is an update for this thursdays open mic performance. Turns out Lily will be leaving then, so it will just be me and Lisa for this thursdays open mic. Then we will both also be playing for Leon's thing, and so on. Next thursday we definitely will be playing as a whole, minus Aaron(come back now, sexy). For the Chehalis music festival saturday we will be whipping out our new material. So you should be, excited, be, be, excited. Mweeeneenee. -Jake
7.15.'03--
So, our picture has been added to theskiptracers.com. Thankyou much, Leon. It looks nice.
As for the description, Jake's suggestion of "Indie Rock" seems about right. Although, you may want to throw a "mellow" in there. Possibly a "hip underground" or "scenester". "Don't you wish you were cool like them" might be appropriate as well.
[Isn't it funny when small people have big egos? I love Blake! Yay for reformed child actors with impressive guitar skills.] <--Inside-joke for us, ha-ha. -Lily
7.14.'03--
I moved Jake's Upcoming Shows section to it's very own page, oh my goodness! So there. -Aaron
7.14.'03--
Well, I just checked my email, and got this:
Lisa, Jake and the band,
Would you be interested in opening the show on the night of the Chehalis Music and Art Festival on Saturday July 26th?
The line up with you would be:
8pm start $5 cover
- Lo Fi, http://www.oocities.org/thelofis/
- Locust Street Taxi, http://www.locuststreettaxi.com
- Aaron English Band, http://www.aaronenglish.com
- Ted Dancin' Machine, http://www.teddancinmachine.com
I think y'all would be a great addition to the show. Please let me know as soon as you can.
Thanks,
Moon
I leave the day after the 26th of July to go to Costa Rica. Then I come back August 5th and we play the 8th. What perfect timing! I'm so excited, this is going to be bigger than shows at the Matrix. I'm really surprised Moon asked us to do something like this. Oh man, I have to check if its ok with the rest of the band, but its totally a go for me. It'll be a great show if we can play there. Eeeweeweewee!!! ATARI TEENAGE RIOT!!!!!!!! DIGITAL HARDCORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On another note, in the past few days, me and Lily have written a few more songs, and could potentially have almost a whole new set of songs to play. On another note, thankyouthankyouthankyou so much Jesse for letting us use your guitar, I am in love with it already. We're gonna sound great with all the new things we can do with Jesse's guitar and amp. Jesse's guitar has a Floyd Rose, so you can set it to reverberation and do these ghostly sounding bends. Ooh lah lah, it is one fine chunk of wood. Stay tuned, kiddies. Yeeeeeeeee -Jake
7.12.'03--
Hey folks, I added an Upcoming Shows section below, to keep you updated on our performances coming up. Hope it helps. Holy crap, in a few weeks I imagine we might have shirts, and possibly CDs. We've been drawing numerous logos to put on shirts, mainly thanks to Genna and Noelle. Whizz. -Jake
7.12.'03--
^ Above is Genna's beautiful rendition of a photo taken behind the Matrix after a show. I posted it along with a new layout ...now it is no longer necessary to scroll past our ramblings to view/sign the guestbook or visit links. How convenient!
-Lily
7.11.'03--
Things aren't the same around here without Aaron. He needs to come back.
But on a lighter note, there's one more show to add to Jakes crazy list. We are playing at Borst Park on Aug. 8th. Wa-Hoo! So tell EVERYONE to come.
Check ya later! -Lisa
7.11.'03--
So here I am in California. I miss practicing with all the Loah Phigh kids constantly. To compensate I wrote a bunch and recorded seven tracks on my MD recorder yesterday and have two more to do today. Most of them have no music but my cousin lent me his electric guitar so I'll work on it. Electric isn't really my style, but my cursèd cousin sold his acoustic so I'll rough it out. I'll probably slow down with the writing right soon and begin trying to put in some simple chords with my novice guitar playing skills. But anyhow I miss those kids in the band and my millions of adoring lady-fans. My heart goes out to you all. -Aaron
7.11.'03--
Our show at the Matrix was pretty good last night. Its too bad Aaron's in california now though. Next planned show should be the 17th at open mic night. Then me and Lisa might be playing at Leon's on the 19th. Noelle and Genna are working on shirts, because they're super nice folks. I think I'll be pumping out a few more originals of my own as well sometime soon. Happy day. -Jake
7.10.'03--
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LILY! EEEE! -Lisa
7.10.'03--
It's my birthday today...I'm legal now, ha-ho. It's 4:06 am & I'm so looking forward to going to bed and playing at open mic tonight. Please come, we can eat phantom cake and sing songs of mirth. Good times for all. -Lily
7.09.'03--
Hey everybody. Turns out tomorrow Me, Lisa, and Lily will be playing at the Matrix tomorrow. I will also have a solo act before hand as usual. We will be playing alot of our songs from last time, due to the fact we didn't practice very hard this week (weez be lazeeee). So you should totally go. And tell all your friends. We will possibly have shirts, maybe CD's? So long. -Jake & Lisa
7.05.'03--
Noelle's house was preeeetty crazy last night. Our show wasn't so great, we practiced alot of the songs a few hours before hand, yet our acoustic stuff later went alot better, people enjoyed it. I had an interesting talk with Noelle, we ended up watching Requiem For A Dream. Interesting night.
So yes, we will be played at Leon's on the 19th. I'd imagine at open mic night I will be playing with Lisa or just by myself, it really depends what she wants to do. Either way, I will be playing at open mic. Stay tuned, Lofiteers. -Jake
7.04.'03-- P.S.--It was confirmed last night that we are playing [without Aaron] at Leon's on July 19th. More info later. -Lily
7.04.'03--
The matrix show went great for us last night. Today were waking up early to practice and then heading over to Noelle's for a party. Should be bucketloads of fun.
Next week for open mic I will be playing solo again, or possibly with Lisa, but Lo Fi will not be playing as a group. It will be Lily's birthday and Aaron will be in California. Although I'm pretty sure that we will play the week after that. Stayed tuned folks. -Jake
7.02.'03--
Hey everyboooody, I think I will be having a solo perfermance before our whole group plays on thursday. It will be a few sets before I would imagine. I'm only going to be doing covers, nothing else. All originals are being left for the whole band. I might have Lily on the tambourine (maybe?) or it might just be me. Either way, its going to be the greatest show ever...... ever...... Sexy. Tomorrow were going to be practicing aaaaalot, whooyyeee... Should be a great show. -Jake
7.01.'03--
So we're gonna play open mic this week and I will also give a
flawless
solo performance. We're goning to play at Noëlle's house on the Fourth of July as well. Until then, shake it, shake it baby.
-Aaron
6.27.'03--
Those who failed to attend Open Mic last night missed out on Jake's hot bod & cutesy floral-patterned bra. Yeah, he was wearing one. -Lily
6.26.'03--
Hazaa! My plans for tonight were cancelled; the whole band can all play at Open Mic. Unfortunately, Jake has a cold today [his voice is deep and raspy, how sexy] but he'll be singing anyway.
So, today will be our first practice together since last week, assuming Aaron can make it.
Consider this an advance apology for not sounding very "together" tonight. -Lily
6.24.'03--
Newsflash: Now the name is not "The Lo Fi's", but just "Lo Fi".
Most of the band should be playing at open mic Thursday. I will not be there, however, because I have a prior commitment. We'd like to play sometime at Leon's in Winlock, though, and should discuss that with him. Jake's blog said something about playing on street corners, also.
As far as material, I know Jake is planning on whipping out more covers and possibly more of his own [?]. I've been writing a lot the past few days & hope to work on those at the next practice. But when will that be?
Yeah, it would be preferrable if we didn't have jobs and other responsibilities to keep us from rehearsing. Goddamnit.
--Lily
6.23.'03--
We haven't practiced this weekend, but we will sometime before Thursday. I hope. Jake is going to do some solo stuff, as will I, most likely. Depending on how much time we have to practice, there might be more original songs. We'll see. -Lily
6.20.'03--
The Lo Fi's are roughly three days old.
We played at the Matrix Coffee House Thurs the 19th at Open Mic. There should be photos sometime soon, as Elizabeth, our little groupie friend, was taking advantage of a camera & flashing in our faces. Aw, snap. -Lily
