My first battles were in West Sarutabaruta, just outside of Windurst. The battles were quite simple, though, because I was only level 1, I had to rest after nearly every battle. I stood in the area, killing Savanna Rarabs and Tiny Mandragoras until I reached level 3. I then looked around in Windurst itself, taking in all of it's natural beauty [pic].
I was quite surprised when Sharky spoke to me, and told me to meet him in West Sarutabaruta. We were about to make the long journey to Selbina to meet the other members of the AlienGundan linkshell. It looked to be quite a difficult journey for the both of us, especially me. We started running immediately, and I used the lock-on with auto-run to stay right behind him [pic].
We only stopped for one quick battle, and the rest was pure running [pic]. We passed Tahrongi Canyon, a desert-like area with giant cacti [pic], before reaching the rainy peninsula of Buburimu. We stopped by this NPC, and Sharky told me to talk to him and choose the first option. Had I read for myself, I wouldn't have made that mistake, but I'll get to that later.
The rain stopped, and we journeyed on [pic], but it wasn't long before WHAM, we got ambushed by a Goblin (forgot what type). I was out in one shot, and Sharky didn't last long either. I reappeared way back in Windurst, nearly an hour walk away! Sharky, however, appeared back in that area. How? I was supposed to have chosen the second option when talking to that NPC. That would have secured me a Home Point in that area.
Well, Sharky went on, and I started again by myself. I tried to remember the path we took earlier, and I also got directions from Sharky for the rest of the route. Two hours and several deaths later, I finally get back to that area. This time, I take the Home Point and continue on. Then I came across something amazing... A level 50/25 adventurer named Hairu [pic]. I said "wow" and bowed to him, and he bowed back. Time was ticking, however, and I had to get to Selbina.
On my way, I saw these giant dinosaur creatures called Dhalmas [pic], some of which people were fighting. A bit scared, I kept my distance from them. I ran through 2 more areas, finally reaching the small sea town of Mhaura [pic]. The music there was very peaceful, and enjoyable as well. Sharky then tells me that I will need 100 gil to ride the ship to Selbina. I, being level 3, had a grand total of 21 gil. I decided to beg people that came by, and eventually a fellow Mithra named Monar came to my rescue!
Monar was from Japan and spoke English quite well. He gave me the gil I needed, and we entered the ship, staying inside to avoid danger [pic]. Surely enough, there were major battles going on above, and you could hear them. Galkan gurgling was among the many sounds you can hear from below. I talked to Monar a bit, and he gave me a gift before the ride ended... my very own fishing pole! I thanked him, and stepped off the boat into the town of Selbina [pic]!
I quickly moved to the save crystal and binded to it, setting a Home Point there. I had reached my destination! Now I had to wait for other members to arrive. I couldn't level up, since the monsters in the area were too strong, so I just waited...
