Story

When the great fires ripped through the Galkan mountain town of Siphuse (near Bastok) in the last century, a short conference was held to assess the situation. Defacto was chosen among few others to put an end to the lives of the tormentous creatures that had wrecked such havoc upon a peaceful Galkan village.

Aided with nothing but his tremendous strength and size, he brought about the downfall of the Goblin warriors within an hour, and these Goblins had disappeared as quickly as they had appeared. Before the days end, however, a pack of Goblin snipers, perched on the mountain temple Narufat, succeeded in killing off the 3 Galka warriors accompanying Defacto.

With a heavy heart and a burning rage, Defacto carried his deceased brethren back to their respective homes to be mourned. Before anyone could plead their case, Defacto trampled off, disgusted with the randomness of the Goblins' campaign.

3 miles south of Siphuse, Defacto came across a small Galka child chained to a boulder. Defacto ran to his rescue, only to be ambushed. An arrow of Mercury pierced the air and embedded itself in the childs skull, causing the boulder to roll towards the lake below. Knowing his pact as a Galka warrior to "Leave None Behind", Defacto ran after the rampaging boulder, hardly noticing the Goblin army on his heels.

The boulder careened into the lake, sinking to the depths below. With eyes of fire and a heart of stone, Defacto turned towards the warcries of the senseless imps that destroyed the very essence of innocence. With a punch o the ground, Defacto shook the entire mountain, causing a tremendous avalanche that buried all but one Goblin.

As Defacto surfaced with the deceased child, the final Goblin warrior speared Defacto in the calf. It took few blows for Defacto to mutilate the kamikaze mutant. It seemed as if Defacto's strength had left him after that incident, and he was never quite the same.

As daybreak returned to Siphuse, Defacto crossed the city gates only to discover the entire town in ruins. Every man, woman, and child was burned, raped, and pillaged. Even the bones of the strong Galka were ripped from their flesh incasements to be used as tools and ornaments of war.

Defacto ran to the summit of the mountain to search for any remaining Galka brethren, only to discover a Taru-Taru mage traveling with an Mithra thief. With blinding rage, Defacto charged at the two, only to trip on a small rock. When he looked up, the two travelers were studying his features. The Tarutaru was slowly healing the wound in the great Galka's leg.

As the last remaining Siphuse Galkan warrior, Defacto vowed revenge on the heartless minions who brought such pain and destruction to his once magnificent city. Joining forces with this motley crew of travelers, he will search all ends of Vana'diel for his vengeance. This is his story.

Gameplay

Defacto is the party powerhouse. He will provide most of the physical damage and will destroy practically anything that will stand in his way. His superb knowledge of fighting and weaponry will prove an asset as the team faces larger, tougher enemies. He will also study the way of the monk, boosting his hp even more, and giving him skills such as chakra to allow him to be somewhat self-sufficient in battle.
