Thelve Productions was simply started by Muttonhead.

LONG:
The origin of the word "thelves" came from the word "elf" or "elves." Of course, Thelve is not a REAL word. It was written on a ransom note. The note read:

                          "We have your skateboard
                          Bring $50 to the park
Or you will never see your
                          Board again.
                                            -Thelves"

When you ask the composer of the note, he will tell you that it was a mistake. That he simply meant to write "The Elves" but was in a hurry and left out the other "e." But if you ask me, or the Thelves at Thelve Productions, we know it was meant to be.
