'The Sound of Music' is back in Australia for a 40th Anniversary Tour. SEL (Sports Entertainment Ltd.), the company who brought you 'Grease - The Arena Spectacular, and 'The Main Event,' and John Frost, who brought you the highly successful revivals of 'The King and I,' and 'South Pacific,' bring you the brand new $6 million revival of the hit Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, 'The Sound of Music.' The show, made famous by Julie Andrews in the movie, will tour Australia in 1999/2000. It will premiere at the Lyric Theatre, Star City, Sydney, on November 2nd. It will then tour to Melbourne in February, Brisbane in July, Perth in October, Adelaide in January, and other seasons to follow. Currently in the cast are Rachael Beck, Rob Guest, Bert Newton, Pia Morley, Joan Carden, Anne Wood, Rowena Wallace, and an all-star cast. This production is already very popular. The production has selling out performance after performance in Sydney. Before opening night, there was already $5 million in advance ticket sales. The New York Times put it perfectly, "The Sound of Music is back and all's right with the world!"
