When my nephew was born, I called first dibs on making him Halloween costumes. By his first Halloween, one of the animals he recognized, and his favorite, was the zebra.

I adapted a lamb costume from a commercial pattern, changed the ear shapes and the tail and voila-a toddling zebra!
