Read the book Leaves to introduce the lesson. We will make our own leaves by crunching paper and sponge painting. Content Standard: CE 1 Finger painting trees. We will show the difference between Spring Trees and Fall Trees. I will have leaf-less trees for students to fingerpaint leaves on. One tree with green leaves (spring)..and one tree with fall leaves. Content Standard: SC 15 Leaf Rubbings-We will have real leaves for the students to feel and see the texture design of the leaves. Students will dictate a sentence to the teacher about the texture of their leaves. Content Standard: SC 5, SC 3 Matching Leaves-students will have various types of leaves on their paper, they must match the leaves I hand them to the same type of leave on their sheet. Content Standard: MA 13 We do a 4 day drama..."Autumn Drama" (will list skit later)...students will be in 2 groups. Each group will practice their parts for 3 days. We will have some do props, etc...
