The funny (and slightly gross)
coincidence I experienced involving
the PBS show "Dragon Tales" and ABC's
"Who's line is it, anyway?"

Some time ago, I happen to see this episode of "Dragon Tales" called "To Do Or Not To Do":

Max, Emmy, Cassie, Ord, and Zak & Wheezie are playing soccer when they decide to move the game to a nearby grove of trees. Cassie reluctantly goes along even though she doesn't think it's a good idea because the ball might get lost.

And sure enough, the ball bounces into a nearby cave.

Everyone else runs in after the ball, but Cassie is suspicious of the cave's unusual squishy floor and decides to stay outside.

The "cave" turns out to be the open mouth of a giant creature calles a dragonocereas...and it swallows everybody!

From inside the creature's stomach they shout ideas to Cassie for getting the dragonocereas to open it's mouth, and although none of the ideas sound good to her she tries each of them...and none work!

Finally, she decides to do what she thinks will work (since she was right in the first place about not playing in the grove of trees as well as for not going into the "cave") and tickles the dragonocereas...thus allowing her friends to escape out the open mouth of the creature while it's laughing.

But my story doesn't end there.

Later that same night, I was watching the ABC TV improv comedy show "Who's Line Is It, Anyway?" in which Colin Mochrie started a segment called "Wierd Newscasters" with this line:

"Our top story...a man who had been swallowed by a whale escaped
today by running as hard as he could until he was all pooped out"!

That line was already funny enough as it was, but the fact that I saw it a few hours after seeing that "Dragon Tales" episode made it even funnier...I fell off my chair laughing, "That's what they should have done on 'Dragon Tales' today"!

As long as I live, i'm going to remember that moment...that was just too coincidental!

I'd love to find one of those magic dragon scales and be transported to Dragonland just to tell them, "Hey, remember when all of you were swallowed by that dragonocereas? Well, you could have escaped by jumping up and down and running around real fast until all of you were completely pooped out"!

I can just imagine what their reactions would be:

Emmy, Ord and Cassie would be going "Eeeewwwwwwww"!

Max would fall down laughing.
(Most four-year-old boys love gross jokes like that. And yes, I fell over
laughing at that joke too...so I guess classic comedy transcends all ages.)

Zak would slap his hand over his eyes and scream,
"AAAAAAGH!! That is so disgusting I can't even be-LIEVE you'd say that"!
But Wheezie would be scratching her head and saying,
"Uh, I don't get it. Why would being really, really tired help us escape"?

"Wheezie! He didn't say 'really, really tired'...he said 'pooped out'"!
"Yeah, which means you're really, really tired".
"But it also means..."

He'd cup his hand over her ear and whisper the other meaning of "pooped out".
Her eyes would widen as a look of horror spreads over her face.

"AAAAAAHH!!! Zak, that's DISGUSTING"!!
"Well, don't blame ME! Bob said it"!
