Jadea

Emerald
Sorceress Empress
Leinsata of Themiscyra (Former
Queen)
Daughter
of Arleia and Pankos
Sister to Callisto
Jadea stands at five foot, seven inches tall. Her eyes are a
vibrant green hue and compliment her sunset red hair. A sorceress
and Amazon, Jadea's usual attire is practical but colorful. She
often wears dark greens, reds, or purples; but as with her
physical appearance, Jadea's wardrobe can change with her moods or
will.
Born in what is now a desolate but peaceful valley called Cirra,
Jadea was one of only a handful that survived the fiery
devastation brought by the Warrior Princess, Xena.
Jadea is the sister of Callisto, Warrior Queen. During the attack,
the pair was separated from their mother and father, Arleia and
Pankos. Callisto, the elder, ran to save her sister but suffered a
blow to the head which knocked her unconscious. When the young
girl came to, her entire world had been destroyed.
Some hours after Xena's army departed the valley, a mysterious
woman watched a young Jadea walk through the charred carnage.
Jadea's face was stained with tears, her heart bruised. But the
woman watching her recognized some element in the girl, finding
she possessed vast potential. Jadea came to know her as Rumyna, a
powerful and ancient sorceress. Under Rumyna's apprentice, Jadea
learned of her powers and how to effectively use them. As her
craft grew, so did her reputation.
During a mission which took her to the Isles of Celcia, Jadea
joined a tribe of Celtic warrior women. These Celtic Amazons
became like an extended family to Jadea. Against numerous orders
from Rumyna, Jadea refused to leave them. She was trained in the
arts of physical combat, learning how to use various mortal
weapons to disable her opponents. For a time, her life was stable.
That would all change when Jadea learned that her lost sister,
Callisto, was indeed still alive. Again refusing Rumyna, she left
the Isles, hoping for a reunion with her older sibling.
But Jadea would never reach her sister. Word of her mentor's death
came, accompanied by a message that Jadea would inherit all of
Rumyna's powers in time... and her mantle as the
"Sorceress Empress" - leader of all sorcerers,
sorceresses, and magicians.
Accompanied by her guardian hawk, Ardra, Jadea traveled
extensively, picking up skills, information, and supplies. She
found herself in the middle of a civil war between the Amazon
Nation and the Wolf Pack. Forging a shaky but hopeful peace,
Jadea's efforts brought about a treaty which is still in effect.
Summoned to Themiscyra by its Queen Celosia, Jadea amusingly
accepted the invitation. The decision would be one she never regretted.
The two women began as strange allies, but a strong bond would
form to make them eternal friends.
Following Queen Celosia's decision to invoke her rite to her
nok'tana, Jadea co-ruled with the queen's sister, Medea. When the
lattermost set off on her own nok'tana, Jadea became Themiscyra's
sole leader.
Eventually summoned by friends in distress, Jadea left Themiscyra
and appointed her Regent Valkyra as her successor. Though the
Amazon sorceress would return to the village, she refused to
assume her former role as Queen. That is, until her long-time
friend and Sister, Valkyra, received dire news from her homelands
and expressed her intention of leaving to aid them. Valkyra was
certain this mission was to be her last.
She returns often to her beloved Themiscyra, to advise and to
visit. She helps where she can, but tends to follow her heart and
her whims as the wind carries her.
The Sorceress Empress:
Doubting the "real" demise of Rumyna, Jadea has
discovered that her mentor elaborately arranged for her protégé
to become the new Sorceress Empress.
Possessing many powers, Jadea is a strong wielder of magic. She
uses her powers at her own discretion, breaking the most ancient
rule of her kind- the prohibition of direct interference in mortal
affairs. Though casting fireballs at her enemies is among Jadea's
favorite powers, she is capable of more than she lets on. Her
ability to turn herself into any living form is one of her tamer
powers, paling in comparison with her secret power to instill
magic into anyone she freely chooses. In addition to leading one
of the biggest and strongest Amazon tribes in the Nation, Jadea
must also protect her Sisters from her secrets, among them- her
nieces, Samsara, daughter of Callisto, and Seriana, daughter of
Ares.
Jadea's totems are the white tiger and the red-tailed hawk.
Ardra is both a spirit guide and a physical hawk that follows,
speaks mentally to Jadea, and can share her sight with her owner.
