DESCRIPTION

Pock marks and shrapnel damages were done using a mini drill with grinder bit. Base coat was applied using a VERY dark desert yellow color mix First drybrush coat was done using white After the white color drybrush, the actual coloring was than applied using drybrushing and washing as primary techniques.

*The concept behind using very dark base coat and then a white drybrush later on is to get a very clear contrast between the shadows and highlights on the model surface. Some people keep asking why the white drybrushed coat is used first rather than the actual color. The reason is because white drybrushing can make the actual color brighter. It is also to make the base coat act as a shadow in areas which are not drybrushed with white. This is also one reason why walls or buildings are often whitewashed before a new color coat is applied.
In using this method, a very dark shadow can be achieved with bright highlight. This will make the model look more 3 dimensional.
