Ever spent $$$ on tubes of putty, and I'm not talking about epoxy putty for detail work, but rather, the regular kind used for filling gaps and pin holes. Well, that's not the end of the story, you've got to wait for quite some time for the putty to dry. Here's a substitute that works just as well!
The two "ingredients" for this trick are baking soda and superglue. The superglue acts as a filling agent while the baking soda rises and hardens the superglue INSTANTLY. That means no more waiting, its quick and easy work.
Simply apply glue to the area to be filled and sprinkle/dab on a generous
amount of baking soda, the glue will dry immediately upon contact with the
powder. This forms a small, unnoticeable blob, sand and file till desired.
Be sure to sand and file well, if not, it might leave a rough surface, unsightly
when paint coats are put on. Brush off any excess baking soda.
