The Moldy Crouton brings you our very own Beginner's Guide to:

First a little introduction. Let me start by saying there would be no Moldy Crouton without this game. It was our mutual interest in playing TA that allowed 2 freaks like us to meet. Anyway, this is our contribution to the game we consider to be a shitload of fun.
What this page is designed to do: This page is for people who somehow got their hands on TA, and like it, but they don't know much about this almost 5-year-old game and would like to learn more. Basically this page will take a total newbie and turn them into an average player. Our aim is not to make expert TA players out of everyone because frankly, we don't consider ourselves to be experts. We are just people who have played quite a lot and want to share our knowledge to those who might be intimidated by such a complex and challenging game. Now enough babble. On to the guide.

  1. Getting Started What you need to play TA and what to do with it all.

  2. TA Terms Glossary What in the hell are they talking about? People use a lot of abbreviations and slang in this game. This should help explain some of it.

  3. Keyboard Commands We have tried to collect a complete list of all of the keyboard controls, typed commands and cheat codes. It's quite long and horrifying.
  4. Opening Moves Some of the basics when you start playing, either against the computer or real people.
  5. Bombing One of the oldest tricks in modern warfare: fly over and drop bad things on your enemy. Here's how to do it right in TA.
  6. "Plan B" The bitter end when nothing else seems to work.
  7. TA Links A huge list of links to other TA sites. Everything from new units to maps to other help sites and well, lots of stuff.
