A Brief History of the Conspiracy

Formed in 1999 under the name 35splat, the boys in The Montag Conspiracy set out to do something a little different with punk rock. After releasing You Are A Target Market- an original hybrid of punk, metal and hardcore- on Zero Distribution Records, and playing gigs almost weekly with bands like Metalblade's Crisis, Earache Record's Anal Cunt, Victory's Run Devil Run, Da'Core's Allan, and Radical's Social Scare, as well as dozens of locals, the boys added a second guitar player and began re-evaluating their sound. While recording a third album in late November 2000 (due for release April 2001 on Anarchrist Records), the boys began searching for a new name to accompany their new sound. After deciding on The Montag Conspiracy in February 2001, we're ready to regroup and make our second assault on Pittsburgh's local underground.
