MTG + The Kezners

Waterberries' show on the 18th was a success!  More Than Glory (MTG) played one of their best shows and The Kezners had the place rockin'!

The night started off with a new group of DJ's.  Following this was a performance by MTG, sporting emo punk rock.  They opened up with "The Story of William Joseph and his Punk Rock Girlfriend."  They also showed up two new songs entitled "Fall Away With Me" and "Struck".  As a joke, the band covered "Rough Riders" by DMX.  Although Freddy, lead singer, didn't know the words, he improvised just as well.  Up next was The Kezners.  These 4 guys had everyone dancing.  In between songs, bassist Mark yelled, "If you dance I'll give

you a Cadbury egg!"  To me, their set was a 50's throw back mixed with 70's bluegrass.  As I was dancing around, I thought about how everything was when The Beatles first came around, when the kids did the hop.  I felt the original Rock N' Roll spirit; the way this music was meant to be.

Despite the realistic view of the millenium, the style and attitude of both bands was hard to ignore; both bands were truly impressive.  I must say that this show was the best I've ever been to, I never danced at a show before, but this concert I just couldn't help myself.  The whole show was full of crowd surfing and a positive punk rock feeling.  This show reassured my attendance at the next performance.
