Blink's Taking Off

A very touchy subject to touch upon. Did Blink 182 sell out punk and all its fans, or did they simply grow up [ musically only of coarse ]. Maybe if the CD sucked, I would have to say they sold themselves, but it doesnt, soI wont. I'm not really sure what I like about it. Its filled with typical, but good chord progressions. I think what really grabbed my ear is that they knocked off the fart jokes [ for the most part ] and actually touched upon some serious stuff. This even goes beyond the typical breakup song.

Songs that some can relate to, like "Stay Together For The Kids" and "Reckless Abandon" make this CD. Though I miss the old sound of Blink [ from Chesire Cat and Dude Ranch ], Im glad this is the next thing for them. They have grown as a band and individuals. For example, I think Tom is a lot better as a guitar player. He isn't as sloppy anymore. Blink 182 was and still is one of my favorite bands and they have given the punk scene a tug foward, something that no one can deny. Like them or hate them, Blinks taking off.
