Pennywise "Land Of The Free?" |

I've been waiting for Pennywise's new album for quite a while, and I was not disappointed upon finally getting to hear it. This is the latest release from them since one of their best albums (Straight Ahead, not Live at the key). Anyway, this CD opens up with "Time Marches On" a very awesome song. The hard hitting guitars, fast drumwork, and melodic lyrical style continues the ever popular Pennywise sound. Jim's noticibly political and religious (or should I say Anti-religious) lyrics always get you thinking unlike the bland lyrics of many of today's more popular musical acts... The key song | on this CD, in my opinion, would have to be track 7 "My God". This testament against organized religion and their money-hungry, blind belief system shows the Pennywise attitude towards things. Musically, it's just as powerful as any other Pennywise song, there's just no refusing Fletcher's guitar. It's loud and in your face. I definitely suggest anyone who's reading this to go out and pick up this album....it's full of energy, lyrics that actually mean something, and music that sounds damn good.
