Runaway Studio in Port Washington Long Island.
To start off, Runaway Studio is a breath of fresh air to any band who is looking for a good recording. The first time we arrived at this studio, I thought, "oh boy, I can see how this is going to be" as we walked into the owner's basement. The owner Chris, was so friendly too, that made me think even more, "Why is this guy being so nice?" Anxiously we made our way inside to "The Studio" and saw a comfy couch and a big monitor on the other side of the room. Chris said to us "This is the room where you guys relax because recordings take a while and sorry, the pinball machine is broken." Located in the other side of the room was of course, a broken pin ball machine. As he took us into the recording area, everything seemed to shine. He spit out words that I've never heard about what kind of studio it is. The software he uses, the speakers, the wiring the soundproofing of the rooms, anything you wanted to know ever. He showed us he's recording tools which was all digital with the best equipment you can't find anywhere. He showed us all the instruments we would be able to use, including his prize posession, a custom made acoustic. To make a long story short. This studio is amazing and is worth the money that is paid for the quality recording. It is a little more expensive but if you want a good sound and a recording that is probably the best a local band can find, this place is fantasic. Another thing that is great about this studio is that they are for the local scene. The owner has turned down requests from record labels to record at his studio. Runaway Studio's will be putting out a compilation of about 100 bands with 40 second songs this August. Check with your local bands for a copy. Band's Selling comp: 4-Seen, Dibs on Anthony, More Than Glory, Underrated and many, many more.
