ALEXIA SET TO RELEASE “HAPPY” ALBUM
Dance diva Alexia, whose new album is released later this month, has come a long way from the days when she toured Italy in a van with a covers band.
The 28-year-old Italian singer has had several hits across Europe, including three in the UK Top 40- “Uh la la la”, “Gimme love” and “Music I like.”
Alexia hopes that her second album “Happy”, which is due for release on January 17th, will follow in the success of her first, which went platinum.
DANCE DIVA ALEXIA HAS “NO REGRETS”
Italian dance diva Alexia, whose album “Happy” is due for release on January 17, started her career playing in dingy bars and cafes with a covers band.
Despite audiences chatting instead of listening, she says she has no regrets about the tough experience as it helped her cope with international success.
“Singing with the covers band was tough but I think it was the best training I could have had, and it really gave me the will to succeed” she says.
MUSIC IS MY PASSION SAYS DANCE DIVA
Dance star Alexia, who has had three Top 40 hits in the UK, believes that to be famous you have to start at the bottom and work your way up.
“That way you become stronger and actually appreciate the success when you get it,” says the 28-year-old singer from Italy.
“Music is a passion for me, but there were times when people did not want to know, even when I thought my singing was good,” she laughs.
“ENGLAND WAS TOUGH TO BREAK”- ALEXIA
Italian dance diva Alexia, whose debut album went platinum, achieved solo success in Europe in 1995.
But it wasn’t until she signed up to Sony’s Dance Pool three years later that she hit the charts in Britain.
“Uh la la la” was released in March 1998 and went straight into the Top 10.
“England was the most difficult place to break. I’m very happy now that I have managed to have hits in this country,” she says. |
