Fan Club reviews

Uh la la la Everyone around the world (except the UK and Australia) prefers this to the Almighty edit but I suppose its all down to what you heard first. The song isn't bad, and definetley is summery but I don't think it's that outstanding and I'm not keen on the rapping bits.  6/10

Number one
This song is dreamy like summer is crazy but not quite as good though. The middle part sounds a bit off too. Despite that it is still a great song. The spanish version isn't as fast as the original and the dreamy music has been replaced by spanish guitars. It's still good, but the original is better.  8.5/10 (for the original) 7.5/10 (for the spanish version)

Virtual reality
This song has a moody feel to it and is another euro dance stomper. The chorus can at times drag but this is made up by the verses. Unfortunately, the song loses it at the end. 7.5/10

Because I miss you
To be honest, i don't really like this R `n' B style track. It plods along a bit and I don't understand why theres a drum and bass type thing in the middle of it. Sorry. 3/10

Summer is crazy One word- brilliant!! The music and Alexia's voice brings out a great mood which you can't help sing or dance to. And the music during the chorus is truly excellent! The only bad point is the siren part in the instrumental bits. This is the best of the best. 9.5/10

Another way
Another dreamy house song completed with Alexia's dreamy vocals. The music sounds familiar too.... One of the best on this album. 8.5/10

Me and you
This song was Alexia's first single and rightly so. Its an upbeat eurodance number which is very catchy, although the beat sounds a little eightiesh... 8/10

Hold On
The only slow song on Fan Club, Hold on is a superb ballad which shows the full talent of Alexia's voice. Unfotunately, the song loses it near the end when she begins shouting a bit. However, it is still a fitting tribute to her late father. 9/10

Looking for my baby
Another dance choon from Fanclub, although not one of the stand outs, maybe because its near the end of the album, you get a bit tired of the structure of the dance songs. Its still good though, just not outstanding 7/10

Beat of the night
This sounds a bit like summer is crazy, just a little less moody in places. Alexia proves she can hold a note in the middle part and the chorus is quite good too. 8/10

It's christmas time
This song has exactly the same music as Hold on (it was a special bonus track for a christmas edition of fan club) except that there are a few christmas bells in it. The meaning is in the song but it's not as strong as Hold on and the ending does no justice for Alexia's voice or song writing skills. 8/10

Make you happy
This is a great ender for Fan club and is a very happy song However, the end is too sudden, the chorus should have been repeated twice at the end. 8/10

The album on the whole:

This album is one of the best ever created. 8 great tracks, 1 good track and only 1 bad track feature on this. This album would guarantee to keep any dancefloor alive and is a must buy. If theres one thing I'm not keen on, it's the structure of the songs in that its "verse 1, music, verse 2, chorus, music, verse 3, chorus" which gets a little to repetitive on some of the tracks ("Number one", "Virtual reality", "Summer is crazy", "Another way", "Beat of the night") but its bearable. It's a tough album to follow up, but I'm sure Alexia and Robyx will try their best. This album truly contains the Robyx spirit as well as show us that Alexia has her own distinctive style.
This truly is the Eurodance album of `97!
