* "Happy" is reported to have a release date of August 10th, but DWA denied this, saying it would be released in late August. "Happy" was finally released in Italy on August 28th. The titles to the other six songs on "Happy" are: "The rain", "Close to you", "Giddy up", "I want you", "Save a prayer" and "Shake you up". All the tracks were writte by Robyx and Alexia except for "Shake you up" which was written by F. Alberti and A. Fascetti. * "Goodbye" was set to be released in The Netherlands on August 18th but the release date was put back to September 6th. * Tero Teitto found an online store that sold Alexia's limited edition single "Virtual Reality". The URL is www.kane.fi * Alexia visited Japan from the 22nd to the 29th of August to promote the Japanese version of "The Party" called "Uh la la la" which was released in Japan on August 4th. Alexia's about her visit to Japan "My experience in Japan was definately a postive one that, given chance, I would quite happily relive. Those of whom welcomed me made me feel so at ease and I was completely taken aback by their hospitality, politeness and way of showing respect for one another. At first I thought I would be seen as an alien because of the differences of our culture, not just between Italy and Japan, but the differences with the whole of the Occident and the Orient! The Japanese are brilliantly organised - in everything! Perhaps it's part of their culture or tradition, but whatever the case, everything that they do is done well, infact better! I suppose one would think that this kind of life may be tedious but in reality it's really unique. My curiosity was getting the better of me especially when it came to food and I wanted to taste Japan in more ways than one! I was asked if I had a preference for certain dishes or if I wanted anything particular but naturally I wanted to taste their local traditional food. People speak well of Japanese cooking and I for one can say that I ate a lot of delicious food. I must admit that some dishes had a strange flavour but were worth trying. I loved eating in their characteristic restaurants and also the charming way in which the food was served. Each course is served in lots of boxes, you could say like unscrewing a Russian doll ('matrioska') where you find lots more Russian dolls! Each box was different and of a different colour and I don't know why but this caused me even more hunger! My Japanese friends were thrilled that I wanted to eat their cuisine without ever giving up - not even when a plate of 'dogfish bones with prunes' was placed in front of me!!! Other than just the Japanese gastronomy, Japan is beautiful for many other reasons. As I previously said, their idea of organisation is perfect and this makes everything run smoother. I thought I would find a frenetic atmosphere, but I really wasn't stressed at all even though I went there to work. Before I close, I would like to take the opportunity to thank my friends at SONY/EPIC who welcomed me and made my stay in Japan a special one. I'll never forget it." Uh la la la This month the Dutch music television channel "TMF" ( The Music factory) broadcasted the "Summerdance top 100 of all times". They played the hotest & best clips of all times requested by the viewers of "TMF". Alexia reached the 31th position in this chart with "Uh la la la" !!! This while "Uh la la la" only reached the 15th position in the national charts, 1.5 years after it was released in Italy !!! And ... this was in the winter !!! It was the summerhit of 1997 in a lot of country's in Europe. Everybody bought in other country's "Goodbye" is received very well in the Netherlands! Wednesday the 20th of August "Goodbye" was aired for the first time on a nationwide radio station called "Radio 538". This station is know to be "the nummer 1 of young Netherlands". "Goodbye" was played for getting to know the opinion of the listeners about this record. About 80 % were crazy about this record and the DJ's at "538" liked it too! * Alexia is now signed to Sony Epic Worldwide. DWA said that Alexia did this so she could gain "more power". Ironically, Alexia's last release on the Dancepool label was "Goodbye". Remix Album 1998 There have been a lot of rumors about the release of the "Remix Album 1998". DWA said these rumors were false... But in fact it was released. Only in one country though; Poland! It has been released on PolyGram (Magic records). |
