Alexia’s new album “The Party” is released, firstly in Italy (on June 1st), then The Netherlands (on June 8th) and the UK (on June 15th) and was followed by more European release dates. In Italy, “The Party” hit the number one spot in the album charts and did well in other European charts.
DWA originally planned to release a bonus CD with “The Party” that contained remixes of the singles but decided to scrap that idea.
Here is DWA’s description of the album:
Keep on movin’- This is a real “Happy tune” with a 70’s musical influence. Gimme love- This is Alexia’s first single taken from the album. Since the release date, it’s been at the number one spot for 3 weeks (already) here in Italy. It’s still holding on at the top. Bad boy- You’ll love this one- A sure hit! The music I like- This is the second single to be taken from the album. It’s a fast dance track with a strong melodic atmosphere. Crazy for you- Fantastic! Listen to it! It’s one of the best tracks on the album! Claro de luna- A great dance track with Latin influences. Everything- An emotional track with a nice beat. Feelings- A slow track. A big love song. Everyday- A dance song with a melodic vocal line. I love my boy- An “Uh la la la” part 2! Amazing! Don’t love me baby- R&B style, smooth and slow. If you say goodbye- Another mid tempo song with a simple melody. Dame amor- The Spanish version of “Gimme love”. Uh la la la (almighty edit)- The UK version of the hit that went top ten in the UK.
“Gimme love” was finally released in the UK, going into the official UK charts at number 17.
The second single from “The Party” was named as “The music I like”. It was released in Italy on 19/6/98. The single contained remixes by Robyx, PM project and D-bop and contained the original full length version of the Pump friction Vs Precious Paul remix of “Gimme love”, that was made for the UK market. “The music I like” also hit the number one spot in Italy. |
