It is unknown if a remixed version of the single is being released in the UK and Ireland, like what has been done for "Uh la la la" and "Gimme love". The new single is set for a worldwide release in April/ May. Fedrecio Zanetti has told me that the new single is "a really happy song". The new album aslo being kept a secret by DWA looks set to be released this summer.
At the moment, Alexia is touring America for the release of "Uh la la la". She has visited Canada and performed at "Goodness night club" and "Dome 2000". From the 14th to the 17th of March, Alexia will be in Miami, taking part in the magazine "175 Billboard DJ's and Radio mixshow DJ's" private party. She will also be on American radio and in the clubs. She will also be presenting an award to a winner of a muscical act at a gala performance.

MIAMI (14-17 March)
In Miami I got to know loads of really nice people! I was certainly rubbing shoulders with the stars there! Miami's whole atmosphere is influenced by music. Wherever you go you can see people not only from the music trade, but from the show business in general. All coming from different parts of the US and Europe. I met up with DJs and journalists from the well known "Billboard" magazine, plus loads of Japanese - all really great people! I also met up with my friends from Sony Brazil, (I absolutely adore those guys-they're all just so sweet!) plus a lot of American and European friends who were all very supportive. I'm also really surprised at how many people know who I am (whereas I never seem to know anyone!).
Who should I bump into, but the singer Jocelyn Brown (I've met up with her before and I like her a lot. She doesn't know this, but I call her aunt!) and Mousse T., the famous DJ who had a massive hit last year with "Horny '98". He offered me a drink, but I had to turn him down and hit the sack for two quite valid reasons: one, as you know, I'm a teetotaller and two, because I was really tired. He's quite an attractive young man though....!!!
In Miami I did two show cases. In one of them I felt really tired and confused because of jet-lag. Even so, both went well and I really enjoyed myself! The crowd were enthusiastic on both occasions!
I was interviewed by 'Match Music', the well known Italian television programme, which was cool because I got to speak in my own language! Unfortunately, there was a lot of noise going on in the backround whilst she was interviewing me, because Georgy Porgy was singing really loud and you couldn't hear a thing....!
One evening I was invited as a special guest to present an award for the most successful dance song of '98. Cher won best eurodance 12" with her song: "Believe". I felt like a Sharon Stone presenting an award at the Oscar night - "...and the winner is....!" Cher didn't come and collect her prize - so I kept it....but only for a few footsteps away from the stage as they ran after me and grabbed it back-now do I look like that kind of girl?!
Another day, I did a press conference sat alongside the singer, Billie, who is, by the way, absolutely adorable! Anyway, the sound was so bad that I ended up not being able to hear what the journalists and the other artists were saying...!! I got really bored and ended up drawing flowers on a piece of paper! Billie, being English, understood everything that was going on and was listening really hard with interest to what was being said, not noticing what I was up to. Then all of a sudden, I noticed that she too was drawing flowers!!! So I said: "Hey! You copy cat! What are you doing, copying my flowers?!" She giggled at that! Then the questions came flying at me: "What is happening on the Italian music scene at the moment?", so I answered: "Hey, but don't you know that 'Sanremo Festival', the biggest musical event in Italy, has just finished?! In Italy, it's an event that year in, year out everybody watches and critizes. Some of the songs at 'Sanremo' become catchy melodies that we end up humming to ourselves, whereas only the week before the same ones were ripped apart with criticism by everyone! Some of the songs survive, mainly thanks to the radio, others get forgotten like something thrown in the bin and are never heard again! Within a few months time this is what'll happen to a lot of these songs!!! As for me, well I'm working hard-don't worry!"
CANADA (12-13 March)
I was only in Canada for two days, so I haven't got much news to tell you. However, I did get to meet the goodlooking DJ MC Mario and a really cool Canadian television presenter called George with absolutely gorgeous eyes!
Ciao!!

Alexia about the "San Remo" festival:
"I think that 'Sanremo' rappresents that little something special for all of us singers, at least in Italy anyway. When I was younger and hadn't yet begun to embark on this career, I dreamt of one day being able to go there. But I knew it wasn't such an easy task to do. Every year it was shown on television, I would sit in front of the TV set and think about how lucky the participants were to be there. I fantasied a lot when I was little! I remember my family understanding my emotions, realising my feelings inside towards all of this. They would say to me: "Don't get upset, they'll call you one day, you'll see...."naturally, they had no idea just how difficult it is to be able to achieve such a goal.
These days, I've created my own career working up and through a different road. I'm proud of myself and I have no regrets. I have made myself known to the world a little at a time, yet working very hard.
I've also been very lucky to have taken part in other musical events that I, personally, find very important, like for example, 'Festivalbar' and 'RoxyBar'.
Even so, I still tend to be fascinated by this event: 'Sanremo'!
I liked this year's edition a lot. Finally, after many years of being unable to follow it in the comfort of my home, I managed to follow the whole 5 days. I noticed that there was more of a relaxed atmostphere than in previous years between the participants. I really liked Laetitia Casta, who to me didn't seem the type of super model slave that she's made out to be. I found her to be quite a good presenter and very spontaneous. I think that it was a good idea of Fabio Fazio to have Prof. Renato Dulbecco (Nobel Peace Award for his contribution to Science) as a full-time guest. In the beginning I wasn't that convinced about it, but then I changed my mind. This man, apart from all of the merit he deserves, spoke about important issues and yet demonstrated to be casual, confident, free and easy. Obviously I liked Fabio Fazio as well. He's a fun person but also an intelligent one at the same time.
Now let's get on to the musical side!
The singers I liked the most were: Antonella Ruggero because she's an excellent singer, she has a good personality and a lot of class. I liked Marina Rei's song and also her offhand manner, a real professional. I thought 'Quintorigo' were original. Max Gazz? I like a lot, he has a lot of talent. Last but not least, how could I ever forget Gatto Panceri! I already knew he was good and he showed us just how much!
I appreciated everyone that took part really!
As for the International rock and pop guests I liked 'Skunk Anansie' a lot. WOW! Skin has an amazing voice! I also liked 'Blur' and 'Five'.
As for the rest of them I don't really need to comment. Ricky Martin and Cher, both great artists as always. Mariah Carey and Alanis Morissette (both legends). As always there were also the great Italian artists as guests such as Riccardo Cocciante, Frank Battiato, Gianni Morandi and Ivano Fossati....what can I say?
Actually, speaking of Ivano Fossati, do you want to know something? Well, when I was a little girl, I was a great fan of his.
In the 70's, he was one of the most original artists around in Italy. He had a different kind of look and long hair. These are the reasons as to why I probably liked him so much.
Anyway, once when I was in church with my mother, a nun showed me a holy picture portraying the face of Jesus and asked me who I thought this man could be. I, convincingly replied: "Yes, I do know-it's Ivano Fossati!" My mother nearly burst out laughing explaining that I had made a slight mistake....well I was only 4 at the time!
Talking about the festival has made me think about another important event that's on it's way: 'The Oscars'. So, like a true Italian, I'd like to wish both Roberto Benigni and his wife, Nicoletta Braschi, a big 'Good Luck' for the film: 'La vita e' bella' .
A big hello to all of my fans!
