The Neckbreakers are the best father-daughter punk band in Houston. Okay, they're the only father-daughter punk band in Houston, but, still, they're pretty darn good. They are a straight up punk band. Three chords and a cloud of dust. A flaming ball of meat, hurtling through space, sure to smack you right between the eyes.

The actual birth of the 'Breakers starts twenty-one years ago, in 1980,with youngsters Jimmy, Gary and Bic forming the punk band The Rabies. Playing a mixture of original tunes and current (for the times) covers they terrorized clubs and audiences throughout Houston. After a couple of years they decided to call it a day and went their seperate ways. Jimmy to Indiana, Bic to domestic life and Gary to a parallel dimension.

Fast forwarding twenty years, Niki is discovering the old punk vinyl in her dad's record collection and starts to play guitar, using the grooves on these old 33's as inspiration. " Hey dad, show me how to play this Ramone's song ." So Bic starts to show her how to play those venerable classics. " We should form a band and play these tunes for others ", says Bic. At this exact time Jimmy is moving back to Houston and calls his old friend Bic. " We're getting the old band back together, dude!."

Soon, the ugliest, most dreaded, phrase ever uttered by musicians, since the beggining of time, was spoken:

" We need a drummer "

The first name that immediately popped out was Gary's. But where to find him. That was answered the very next evening. As Jimmy was leaving Enron Field after an Astros game who should he, literally, bump into? That's right, the " Bringer of Thunder " himself. It was surely the hand of fate moving in it's strange and wonderful way.
