Since Neopets doesn't allow you to Split your cards, simply refer to the total of your cards added together.

Example: You have a 6 & 6, on the chart it says "P", but you can't split on Neopets, so 6+6=12. Refer to 12 on the chart to see what to do for your hand. If the dealer has a 2,3,7,8,9,10,A, or face card, you should HIT (H). If the dealer has a 4,5, or 6, then you should STAND (S)

If you come across an H/P, consider it a Hit (H)

If you come across a D/P, consider it a Double (D)

If you have an 18 or higher - STAND!

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS TABLE IS MEANT AS A GUIDE, IT DOES NOT GUARANTEE A WIN. IT WILL HELP YOU WIN, THOUGH!

Fine Points of Basic Strategy

In single deck blackjack every card that is played has a considerable impact on the distribution of the remaining cards. The following lists will show exactly how to play your cards immediately after a shuffle in a single deck game where the dealer stands on a soft 17. Following these exceptions to basic strategy will lower the house edge by 0.043% according to my calculations. Using this strategy in online single deck blackjack is especially encouraged.

To use this guide first go to the list according to the number of cards in your hand. Then note the basic strategy changes and finally the exceptions to the changes. For example if you have a 16 composed of a 10, 4, and 2 against a 10 look under the 3 card list. You will see that with three cards you should stand on 16 against 10. Going further you will see there are some exceptions, for example with a 16 composed of a 6, 6, and 4 you should hit. If your hand is not listed as an exception so you should stand. It should not be interpreted that this is a card counting guide. Everything is based on exact cards and no numbers represent a count.

I suggest starting with 2000 NP and playing 150 NP bets, following the charts exactly. If you don't have 2000 NP, then start with 200 and use bets of 15 NP. Remember to be patient and don't get frustrated. You will not win all the time, and there may be times when it seems like you can't win. Stick with it and you will undoubtedly come out wealthier than you started.

Methodology

The fine points of basic strategy was determined using a combinatronic and recursive program that made the optimal play at every step considering the exact distribution of remaining cards.
