Noumea, on the main island of Grande Terre, is the only large city in New Caledonia. It is a bustling, cosmopolitan center, and holds 50 percent of the countries population. We sailed into Noumea to check into the country and rest from a rough, upwind slog from Vanuatu. This stop also required an immediate infusion of ice cream, and a few fresh vegetables... Australia>>>
