"Take in knowledge" say the Scriptures
paint a more completed picture
shed the darkness like a shroud
and join the ever growing crowd

Those who truly want to learn
whom, using wisdom, can discern
the truth amid the hateful lie
which hopelessness and death dwell by

Sadly, though, there will be those
who persecute me, who oppose
Who don't delight to see me win
the battle against death and sin

To those I say, with firm conviction,
without delay, without restriction
"The faith I have remains unwavered
with, and still, without your favor."

With hope that they will one day see
the reason for the hope in me
I carry on my precious task
one small request my God does ask.

"Make disciples of all men,
teach them the truth and bring them in
Show them all the righteous way
that they may survive the final day."

And so I preach, and so I teach,
knowing God's good new will reach
all men with righteous disposition
and free them from this sad condition

So, follow me, I'll show you how
to find the happiness I have now
and, better still, joy everlasting
in the eternal reign of our righteous king.
