What is Open Diary?

Open Diary is an online service that allows it's users to get an online diary. The diaries on this Website are hardly diaries, they are groups of individuals, expressing themselves in the most interactive way possible. Diarists can leave notes on other diaries offering everything from advice to friendship. They are like mini-websites. It's truly a unique community of individuals. They are everyday people, in a not-so-everyday environment. They can be mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, teachers, aunt's, uncles, lovers, the list in endless. They are re-shaping the way human interaction occurs online. They are a new generation of people.

What is Open Diary Survivor? (OD Survivor)

OD Survivor is a test of human interaction and human nature in a competitive environment. 16 People are chosen to compete against one another through rigorous Challenges each week. Challenges may range from writing in their diaries, to mind-boggling quizzes and internet games.

In the beginning, 16 people are split into two Tribes. Each Tribe contains 4 males and 4 females who are registered Open Diary users. Every 7 Days, they are assigned a Challenge to compete in, the winning Tribe receives Immunity for that Week. The losing Tribe must vote one of their own off at Tribal Council which occurs every Saturday. Votes are submitted via Email to the OD Survivor Team. Once the votes are tallied, the decision is final and the Member voted from the Tribe must leave the Game that Sunday. On Monday, the game begins again, and each week, the game is minus one more player as the weaker players are eliminated.

After 50 Days (7 Weeks), and 7 Tribal Councils, the remaining Members of each Tribe (9) Merge to form one complete Tribe. Over the course of the next 50 Days, they compete against one another in tougher, harder Challenges. The Challenges don't get any easier and can range from almost anything. Each Week, a member is voted off and each Week the Jury grows by one individual, who will in the end, decide who the Ultimate OD Survivor will be. The ultimate Survivor is the one who has outwritten, outnoted and outentried everyone else. This ultimate Survivor is deemed the best writer of the group.

Once the jury has reached 7 People, they determine who will walk away with the coveted OD Survivor Title. It can be anyone.

Each participant must write in their OD regularily or face expulsion and/or a stiff penalty. They must write a minimum of 5 times in their Open Diary per Week.

The person voted off becomes a Member of the Jury, who will then become an integral part of the Game in the final Week.
