April 25, 1967 the skies opened up and dumped a quiet wise little bundle of 6lbs 1 3/4oz. The event occurred in Kansas City, Missouri. They called me Alisa, after my great, great Cherokee grandmother, Alice. Born the first of five children, the first grandchild, I was raised in the arms of love and affection. A dreamer, I was often seen running barefoot through the fields of my grandpa's farm. Years tripped by and this enigmatic little soul lived many adventures before reaching my now 34 years. I am a mother of four beautifully independent souls, the lover of one rogue met at an Inn somewhere on the superhighway of role playing chat rooms, we've been best friends and life partners for going on three glorious years. I'm the daughter to my best friend, my mom who no matter what paths I've trodden has looked at me with pride and love in her eyes. I'm friendly to all, by those whom I count my friends are few, for when I give my friendship it's from the heart. I'm a nurse, thriving on the chaos that is the Emergency Department in an inner city hospital. I'm a Taurus. A lover of nature, believing in the mother whom created and nurtures this glorious earth. An over imaginative soul who thrives on artistic flair, simplicity and serenity. I'm tough and tender, bold and classy. I am quite simply, me, and that says allot :)
I'm not your typical gal (as my contents page says), but we are all different in some way or another. I have a great sense of humor, I'm motivated and striving to go forth and live one day at a time. I'm indecisive, sometimes I don't know whether to go left or right. I'm a perfectionist by GENES and I can get quite creative if given the right inspiration.
Hello fellow ODers, this is cyndication coming to you live from California! (I've always wanted to say that....) After five years spent skipping around the Southwest, I'm back in the same little town where I was born and raised. And they have trees here! Nice shady ones!
Anyway, I'm the mother of two children (soon to be three). Well....four if you count my husband. ;) We're hoping for a girl after having two boys. Regardless of it's gender, this baby is the LAST baby. You hear that fertility Gods? LAST BABY! NO MORE!
I'm a stay-at-home Mom. Which probably explains my "Semi-Mad" title. Hey, let's see YOU try sitting through endless episodes of Barney and Teletubbies and see how sane you are!
Before having my first child, I worked in a Daycare/Pre-school program. I've always loved working with kids (especially when they're not MINE--haha) and plan to participate in as many extra curricular activites as possible with my own children.
Follow me over the next several weeks as I embark on my continuous journey through Motherhood. Read along as I attempt to make sense of the things my husband does or doesn't do. Suffer through my third (and LAST---don't forget LAST) childbirth experience. You'll laugh, you'll cry and you'll probably disagree with some of the things I say. Oh yeah....I'm turning 30 in July. But that's OK.
I'll survive. :)
christ, i didn't plan on doing this tonight. born in chicago illinois...the land of tom waits. i now reside in orlando, fl (o-town), which can only be described as the crappiest town in the world. there is no culture. there is no atmosphere. the temperature reaches ungodly heights, and for the record....NO, we do not go to disney world on a daily basis. i hate disney world. i am a student @ seminole community college. i was going to the university of central florida, but i decided to finish my AA @ SCC because i did not enjoy UCF....everyone there looks and acts the same. ucf students are created in a factory. i am a server at Pebbles restaurant...part time of course. i don't care much for other people determining my income, so i am looking for employment elsewhere. i am a musician. i am not a very nice person. and as you may or may not have noticed...i don't like beginning my sentences with capital letters. i just don't like them. the end.
Hello! :o) My name is Rory Szwed. Rory is derived from an Irish
mythical warrior. Szwed is a Polish word roughly translated as "Man from
Sweden". If you ever see a mythical warrior claiming to be from Sweden in
an Irish accent... please let me know... and I'll gladly surrender my
title.
Now that we've been formally introduced... I'll tell you a little
bit about myself... I'm 23 year-old graduate student aspiring to be a high
school teacher a year from now. I've done many things to keep me busy in
the meantime: I've played jazz trombone, composed music, and harmonized a
cappella. I've worked for summer camps, lumberyards, and ESPN. I've
driven a forklift. I've bumped elbows with Oksana Baiul, Ted Turner, and
Ralph Nader. I've managed a college radio station. I pledged both social
and service fraternities. I've written sketch comedy. I've been a hall
director for 150 college students. I've sung the national anthem at a
Montreal Expos game. In general, I tend to amaze people.
Now... I hope that doesn't come accross as sounding conceited.
Although those are all cool things that have happened in my life, it would
mean nothing if I didn't balance them out with a healthy bit of
introspection... I am a very humble person... I value integrity... trust
people on their handshake... and think that everyone is entitled to an
opinion without fearing consequences... even if it's against the
mainstream... oh fiddlesticks!... my 250 words are up... take care now...
:o)
I was born in Iowa and moved to Kentucky at age 13, then to Ohio after I graduated College. Right now I work in a factory on third shift, but I want to do research or become a school psychologist. I have written stories and poems in the past and have been wanting to do more but is stuck with writer's block. I'm hoping by participating as a survivor that I can break the writer's block.
I'm a goofy guy. I'm 15, I live in West Monroe, Louisiana. I grew up a little
in Virginia and a lot in Louisiana. I love rock, punk rock, heavy metal,
alternative, and some soft rock. I'm a student at West Ouachita High School.
Next year I'll be a sophmore. I'm really crazy, and I don't brown-nose
people. So if I don't like someone on the OD Survivor I'ma tell em. Well
that's all I can explain bout myself. Bub-bye
