Elves, under Silvanos, prepare for war against the dragons. Meanwhile, the god of the Forge curses his proud; many consider this the birth of the gnomes.

A Golden Dragon named Aurican flies with three Elven mages to the gods of magic to ask for their aid in the Dragon War. The gods of magic give them five magical gems that would trap the essences of each Chromatic Dragon. With this gift, spell magic returns to Krynn.

First Dragon War; for their interference in the Dragon War, the gods of magic are banished to newly created moons far away from Krynn. With the absence of these gods, magic is once again taken from Krynn.

Silvanesti is founded. Meanwhile, the three gods of magic has Hiddukel convince Reorx to make a gem in the image of Krynn. The gods of magic then filled the gem with their essence and tricked Reorx to releasing it on Krynn. Magic returns with the gem. The gem is known as Graygem.

The Graystone releases wild magic. Some of the chosen chase it and are transformed into Scions.
