Krondor: The Assassins

Evil has returned, as a number of ruthless and seemingly random murders have been committed in the city of Krondor. The city is now deathly quiet, the citizens going about their business quickly and quietly. The townsfolk now have self-imposed a curfew at sundown.
In the sewers, thing also do not bode well. Mutilated bodies are common in passageways and the Mockers have fallen from their stance of power. They have been destroyed, their leader missing (presumed dead) and most members killed. Those that survived are hiding as well as they can.
Once again, the infamous Crawler is wreaking havoc in Krondor, but this time, he is being helped by entities even more powerful than he. Could the Crawler have made a pact with the Nighthawks? Prince Arutha gives Squire James the task to find out.
The arrogant Duke of Olasko arrives early at the palace with many demands. It seems they want to hunt. But could it be that instead of being the hunters, they are the hunted?

Plus sides: Great writing, lots of Action

Minus sides: The book isn't long enough to quell my hunger
