Year Day - 1st Winter Night (1st January)
First day of the new year.

Dark Day - 3rd Winter Night (3rd January)
The Anniversary of the Cataclysm, Dark Day is a day of reflection. Plainsmen observe this holiday by making and keeping an oath of silence. Elves create and read somber poems to each other, while kender tell the story of the Cataclysm to remember why it must never happen again.

Tarsinian Regatta Day - 4th Winter Night (4th January)
Tarsis commemorates the day on which the seaport became a land-locked city by building mock boats on wheels and racing them on the seabed west of the city's current location.

Oathbreaking - 22nd Winter Night (22nd January)
This day is another of remembrance, for it marks the day, by the help of the heroes Gilthanas and Silvara, that the good dragons learned of the fate of the eggs stolen by Takhisis: they were being turned into the draconians. On this day, although the rituals are meant to be secret among the dragons, it is said the females weep for their lost children, while the males take to the skies to hunt any draconians they can find.

Harnkeggerfest - 9th-13th Winter Deep (9th-13th February)
Harnkeggerfest began as a hill dwarf celebration that spread to other dwarf nations. It is named after the cerimonial position of harnkegger, given to a dwarf who works hard betweeb Yule and this holiday. After the harnkegger puts on the traditional heavy boots, he taps and samples the first barrel of late summer ale. Others then join in the five-day festival.

Kith-Kanandras - 14th Spring Dawning (14th March)
Kith-Kanandras honors the life and accomplishments of the first Qualinesti leader Kith-Kanan. Other races are welcome to join in the reserved celebration, but they are shooed away at midnight, when the holiday of Silvanosdras begins.

Silvanosdras - 15th Spring Dawning (15th March)
Although the exact birth date of Silvanos, the first leader of the elven nations, is unknown, elves celebrate his accomplishments on the 15th of Spring Dawning (March). Silvanesti observe a fast on this day, the Qualinesti exchange small presents.

Spring Dawning - 21th Spring Dawning (21th March)
Also known as the vernal equinox, Spring Dawning is observed in a variety of ways. The village of Solace holds a craft fair, the kender bang cymbals and wear colorful clothing, the Qualinesti make garlands or compose new songs celebrating nature, the Knights of Solomnia stage mock battles.

Harrowing - 4th Spring Rain (4th April)
Harrowing marks the start of the planting time in Ansalon. Originally, the date for the holiday changed from year to year, but the Kingpriest of Istar standardized it. Dwarves feast to enjoy the last of the winter stores, while the kender of Hylo preform practical jokes.

Midyear Day - 21st Summer Home (21st June)
Also known as Midsummer's Eve, this is the longest day of the year. Humans, elves, dwarves, kender and other races that live in daylight reaffirm thier love of light and life. As an example, the dwarves reignite their forges and then sample large amounts of spring ale. Human decorate their communitites with lanterns and candles amidst joyus dancing.

Festival of Candles - 15th Summer Run (15th July)
The Festival of Candles shows the dwarves' reverence for their dead ancestors. Mountain dwarvs get into small boats and launch themselves onto the lake in the Valley of the Thanes with only a candle to light the way. There they offer food and memorial scrolls to their ancestors.

Heroes's Reunion Day - 13th Autumn Harvest (13th September)
Anyone who recalls the deeds of the Heroes of the Lance tries to visit the Inn of the Last Home on the day they were reunited in the year 351 AC.

Summer's End (Harvest Come) - 22nd Autumn Harvest (22nd September)
The autumnal equinox, Summer's End marks the beginning of the harvest season. Although the dwarves approach this time of year with a grumpy outlook (they have to redouble their winter preperations), the Qualinesti and humans announce betrothals or decorate their homes with carved apples and mosaics of colorful plainsman maize.

Qualintsalaroth - 25th Autumn Harvest (25th September)
Among the elves of Qualinesti, this day is viewed with an unparalleled sadness. Qualintsalaroth mean "Death of Qualinesti." It marks the day when, facing overwhelming odds against the Dragonarmies, the elves abandoned their homeland. On this day, every Qualinesti, from the highest to lowest house, dress in robes of violet, the elven color of mourning.. The women wear veils and the men wear masks, so that the only feature showing is the eyes. What's more, it is forbidden for the elves to speak to anyone from dawn until dusk. The elves gather in the great Hall of the Sky beneath the stars, each holding a single candle. And, when the last glimmer of sunlight has faded, they begin to sing. At the end of the hymn, the elves douse their candles one by one and walk out of Qualinost in a silent processional. They return from the forest by morning.

Festival of Knights - 12th Autumn Twilight (12th October)
The Festival of Knights celebrates the Knights of Solamnia. The city of Panthalas strings banners and pennants of every hue imaginable, and hosts a contest called a Knights' Jest. Although this contest once demonstrated the abilitys of the Solomnic Knights, it eventually turned into a hillarious parody.

Genealogy Day - 13th Autumn Dark (13th November)
On Genealogy Day, gnomes must report to the Genealogy Guild to file corrections, addenda, and clarifications to their names that have occured throughout the previous year.

Thanks a lot Day - 6th Winter Come (6th December)
Thanks a lot Day allows kender to give thanks for the things that dropped into their pockets in the previous year. After eating a traditional goatsucker bird, they view each other's possesions.

Yule - 22nd Winter Come (22nd December)
Traditionally seen as the last day that relatives can safely visit family members before the heavy snows, Yule is also the shortest day of the year (winter solstice). Each region has it's own trations, but almost every race lights a Yule log.
