At 6310 m Chimborazo is the highest mountain in Ecuador and located in the Western Cordillera, 150 km to the SW of Quito and 20 km NW of Riobamba. If height is measured from the centre of the Earth (not from sea level), then (taking in the bulge of the earth) this mountain is easily the highest mountain in the world.
