You know how on the Brady Bunch, Jan was always complaining that everyone pays too much attention to Marsha? You know, the whole middle child thing?
Taylor has always been Jan Brady. He's always hated being left out. Not that he's ever really left out, he's just convinced that he is.
MmmBop was released. Suddenly millions of screaming girls were obsessing over my stupid older brothers. Of course, none of us really knew that until we made a little mall appearance in Paramus, New Jersey.
* * *
As we drove into the mall parking lot, there wasn't a parking space to be seen. It was even more crowded than the day before Christmas.
"Whoa. Is Sears having a sale?"Isaac joked, in his own pathetic attempt to be funny.
We pulled up to the mall's front entrance and a security guard ran out, looking a little frazzled to say the least.
After moaning for several minutes about how he didn't know how to get us into there, (and fighting off a group of girls screaming that they loved us) he directed us around the back to an employee elevator."That's your best chance of getting in there in one piece."
How comforting.
Now, everyone in the world has seen the footage and heard about how there were six THOUSAND screaming girls packed in the mall and how loud it was, so I'll just skip to the part that got me in trouble.
"Everyone stick together!"Dad shouted as we attempted to squeeze through the crowd to the door."Hold hands!"
Hold hands? You've got to be kidding me. I didn't mind grabbing Avie's since she was in front of me, but there was no way I was going to touch Zac's sweaty little hand.
"Jessi!"I heard him yell, but I pretended I couldn't hear him, which was altogether possible, considering the current decibel level.
We were running up the stairs at this point, desperately trying to out run the crowd.
How was I supposed to know that Zac isn't that fast?
* * *
"She left me!"Zac began to rant as soon as we were in the van, trying to ignore the fact that girls were banging their hands on the sides.
Mom and Dad looked back at me."What makes you think he's talking about me?"
"Cause it's always you,"Taylor muttered.
That was uncalled for.
"What do you mean she left you?"Mom asked patiently.
"Dad said to hold hands and she ran ahead. I was stuck on the stairs being closed in on by thousands of screaming girls!"
I rolled my eyes."Like thousands could have been on the same stairwell as you."
"Mom!"
So I got in trouble. I don't know what his problem is, our big bald bodyguard Jason grabbed him before a girl so much as touched a hair on his head.
Now he's the one complaining about being left out.
Zac's our new Jan Brady.
