The Pass started out in the late summer 2000 under their old name of Graphite. They have the traditional Rock'n'Roll band set up of two Guitars, Bass, Drums and Vox ( The way it should be). The line-up has basically kept the same through to today with Andy Hardy & Danny Curtis on guitar, Chris Hardy on Bass & Phil Johnson on drums. The only real change came when in March 2002 Sean Baggot took over as vocalist. The Pass write their own material which is written by Andy Hardy as the main songwriter with Danny Curtis chipping in a few songs. As with most bands that start out when they are young the first few practices were beyond shambolic, with songs being brought in and dropped within a couple of practices. But the band worked hard practicing 3 times a week and began to develop their own sound. The songwriting improved, The timing improved, The music became more complex and the band started to believe they were getting somewhere. Things seemed to be running smoothly until Danny Curtis was involved in a serious car accident during May 2001. This was a major shock to the band and kind of put things into perspective. Danny was in hospital for a couple of months and took about 4-5 months to recover. The band were in no rush to get back but when Danny said the time was right they began practicing again. When they got back there was a new found enthusiasm within the group. A lot of the old songs were dropped in favour of new songs that had been written during the break. Sean Baggot joined the band as vocalist & The Pass are currently working on new ideas for a E.P which should be coming your way late 2002 early 2003. |
