Asparagus is the younger version of Gus: The Theatre Cat, and is most likely his son. Because Sir John Mills was too old to prance around on stage for two months or however long it took to create the video (6 months? A year? Dunno.), the producers created 'Aspargus Jr.' to do that for him. However, in most productions, Aspargus is Gus: The Theatre Cat, as well as Bustopher Jones and Growltiger. In the video, Asparagus is played by Tony Timberlake (who, may I say, was an adorable Asparagus). He has a rather bland colored costume, closely akin to his father's, and minimal makeup (somewhat like the kitten's).
