Tugger and Munk's Past

“Get up sweetie. Time to go to the junkyard.” Said a calm motherly voice.

“Mummy, lemme sleep. I need it, mummy.” Squeaked a tiny sleepy voice.

“You need exercise, Tuggy. You will get lazy, and I don’t want a lazy kitten for a cat.”

“Aww, mummy. Five more minutes…” the tiny black and leopard spotted kitten fell back asleep.

“Tugger! Up!” and within seconds, Tugger was pushed from his warm bed into the cold world of reality.

“Mummy, I want to sleep!” argued Tugger.

“Why can’t you be like your brother, Munkustrap?”

“Because Munk is spoiled and selfish and the future leader and Munk already has a future mate-“

“That is not true Tugger! Mummy, tell him to stop!” Munk whined childishly. “He’s just jealous that daddy picked me as the future leader and not him.” Munk blew a raspberry at Tugger who looked very hurt.

“Stop it you two! Munkustrap, that’s no way how to act to your brother, future leader or not I can still take away your dessert.” yelled their mother.

“Yes mum.” The Munk said tonelessly.

“Good, now get ready because I have arranged for you two to go play with your good friends. Get upstairs and wash up, go on now!” they two were pushed up stairs.

Once they were alone in the bathroom, Tugger began talking.

“I hope that foxy cat Bombalurina is there again today. Wow what a hottie.” He combed his fur back into a curl.

“Tugger, you have one half of a year left to become a teenager. You still are in the age of kittenhood. Unlike me, I am already a teenager.” Munk boasted in the mirror and ran his claws through his head hair, slicking down his head fur. “Not for long, Munk.” and Tugger took his paw and threw water all over Munk, who instantly be came an unhappy kitten. His gleaming silver fur became a mass of tangled fur and his eyes became slits.

“Mum!” yelled Munk from the top of his lungs.

“What Munk?” their mother popped her head into the bathroom.

“Tugger splashed water all over me! Tell him to stop, Mum!”

“Tugger, don’t make me ground you from the junkyard.” She scorned.

“Yes mum.” Tugger sighed.

Munk went into the other bathroom to clean up. Tugger finished and went downstairs.

At the junkyard, the kittens were being watched over by Jennyanydots and Jellylorum.

“Bombalurina, put that down, who knows where it has been!” Jenny said to Bombalurina who picked up a beer can and instantly put it down as quickly as possible, as though it had just bitten her.

“Asparagus, how many times have I told you--don’t you look at me that way young man!” Jelly said to a scowling Asparagus.

“Tugger! Tugger!”

“Yes?” squeaked Tugger; it was Bombalurina calling his name.

“Look what I found this morning in my mummy’s crib!” Bomby went back to her playing area and bounded back to Tugger. “They’re little fuzzy mice!”

“Are they real?”

“No, but they smell awesome! Here, I have two, you can have one.” Bomby handed him a black mouse, whilst she herself settled on a nice brown and white one. The two sat for hours playing with their mice until their mothers came to get them.

“See ya tomorrow, Bombalurina?” Tugger asked hopefully.

“Of course!” she replied with a smile on her face.

“Cool! See you tomorrow!” Tugger walked off with his Mum and Munk. He looked back and saw Bomby waving cutely back at him. A smile creeped onto Tugger’s brown kitten face.
