Zan: This page houses all of the things us obsessive fans have done in the name of CATS. Y'know, like run down the street singing 'Old Deuteronomy', or hissing everytime a car passes by...
Misto: Or creating a CATS website....

Zan's Stories:

My friend asked me what a Jellicle cat was. I immediately broke into the Naming of Cats, and then I recited the sung parts of the Jellicle ball sequence.

Once during band we were playing 'Silent Night', and I noticed that the composer was 'Franz GRUBER'. I then proceeded to emit a squeal of delight, startling my classmates and teacher.

Ok, last night our school had a 'social function'. I, for some odd reason, went. They handed out nametags. I quickly proceeded to put my name down as 'Rumpleteazer', and then under that, I wrote 'I love Mungoj.' because 'Mungojerrie' wouldn't fit. During one part of the 'social function', everyone got to take a paintbrush and paint over an old, nappy Volkswagon Beetle (it had been donated to us for that purpose, I did not vandalize). I wrote my name, the slogan 'CATS- NOW AND FOREVER. OR ELSE.', and then 'I LOVE MISTO!!'.

C'mon, folks, I sit here all day, pretending to TALK to MISTOFFELEES. I win!

My literature teacher has some quote or another above her doorway, which says '...midst of these'. Every time I walk past her door, I immediately think 'Mistoffelees?'. Every single time.

Munkx/Lisa's stories:

"I hadn't gotten around to buying the sheet music yet, but I'm so desperate that I picked out the melodies of "Mr. Mistoffelees", "Macavity", and parts of "The Old Gumbie Cat" by ear at the piano, laboring for hours with my pencil and small sheet of manuscript paper."

"It's seventh grade, and the Performing Arts mid-term rolls around. You have to sing a song from a musical, along with a whole report on characterization, and your performance must be complete with costumes and blocking and whatnot. I chose to do "Memory"; my costume was a big brown winter coat that I happened to have lying around, over a black skirt/pants (?) and a black turtleneck, complete with cat ears, a scarf for a tail, the face make-up thing, and character shoes. Walking around school like that for at least two periods? I think that's dedication! *AND* I was the only kid to get a 100 on the mid-term!!!"

"Another school-related one, Conflict Resolution, a somewhat pointless class that *everyone* had to take. A project, we had to illustrate and classify conflict in a movie, tv show, etc. So I choose "CATS", and do the whole Grizabella conflict. We also had to seriously illustrate. Once my fanart is safely scanned into the computer, I take two originals of Bomba and Griz, draw the junkyard on a pillowcase, and glue the drawings to the pillowcase. Yes, everyone's sister knew I was weird from that point on."
