The fans favorite player by far when he played for Ireland and Aston Villa, due to his outstanding abitly in the air with skill, vision, composure and determanation made him a favorite for villa crowds and most importantly the great irish fans.
I'm sure many will never forget his performance against Italy in the world Cup 94 in the USA were the irish won the match by one goal to nil, thanks to Ray Hounton's magic. And most importantly due to the brilliance of one man in particularly Mc Grath who time after,afer time and so on came to Irelands rescue to put in important blocks and tackles to keep out the player of the world cup Roberto Baggio.
Roberto later went on to nearly single handly one the world cup for Italy but denied at the final ( by Brazil ) by the most of crual ways by missing the vital penetly in the shoot-out. |
