David E. Kelley's "The Practice" receives the Beverly Hills Bar Assn.'s inaugural Media Award, ``which recognizes entertainment industry contributions to public perceptions of lawyers and the law,'' March 21 at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

Life Time Achievement Award:

The Producers Guild of America awarded The David Susskind Lifetime Achievement Award in Television to David E. Kelley.

Kelley, who was presented with the David Susskind Lifetime Achievement Award in Television by "The Practice" star Dylan McDermott, praised the producer's guild efforts to set up an arbitration process for determining producing credits."

"I applaud your recent efforts to make the credit count for something," Kelley said. "It's been rather silly ... that the title is traded as a form of currency."
