From TV Guide

Starts: October

Where we left off: Bobby (Dylan McDermott) and Lindsay (Kelli Williams) finally tied the knot, with a wedding on the field of Boston’s Fenway Park.

The big news: Multi-episode stories will center on two clients: an unexpected murder suspect (guest star Bruce Davison) and a couple whose children suffered deformities from a toxic pesticide found on playground wood. "We’re jumping into the cauldron with these two cases," says coexecutive producer Robert Breech. Expect romance for Rebecca (Lisa Gay Hamilton) and Helen (Lara Flynn Boyle). And now that Williams is pregnant in real life with her second child, could that mean the patter of tiny feet in Bobby and Lindsay’s household?

Who’s in: Jason Kravits, who guest-starred last season as assistant district attorney Richard Bay, approaches the bench as a series regular.

Who wants to be in: The show’s meaty guest-star roles are Emmy magnets (The Practice earned five nominations this year for special guest performances), which, according to Breech, has Hollywood's A-list clamoring for a shot. Among others, Holly Hunter and Don Cheadle have expressed interest, although Breech remains mum on whether they will appear.

Matt says: Who wouldn’t want to be on The Practice? While the series has been guilty lately of going too far over the top too frequently, no other courtroom melodrama is this impassioned or electrifying.

In a touching moment at the end of last season, Bobby (McDermott) and Lindsay (Williams) got married in Fenway Park in view of all their friends. But will it last? And will Williams' real life pregnancy have any storyline implications? In the season's last case, Ellenor (Manheim) failed to exonerate a deaf woman (Marlee Matlin) who shot her daughter's murderer. It also appears that D.A. Richard Bay (Kravits, now upped to series regular) may continue to make things difficult for Bobby and company.
