Season Five (2000-01)

5.10 "Friends and Ex-Lovers"

From TV Guide

Creepy William Hinks, the client acquitted of serial murder (chillingly portrayed by Michael Emerson), reappears as a peripheral character in this episode. But his very presence is an ominous indicator of continued confrontations with Lindsay (Kelli Williams), who's seized with fear and anger. Intense emotions also mark the main storylines. In one, Helen (Lara Flynn Boyle) prosecutes a complicated, Mob-related case that involves her former lover (James Colby). In another, Bobby mounts a desperate, temporary-insanity defense on behalf of his friend Scott (Bruce Davison), who is charged with another killing. Judge Kittleson: Holland Taylor.
