Three diverse and intriguing stories testify to the continuing
richness of the series.
In one plot, the trial of an accused rapist pits Helen (Lara
Flynn Boyle) against shrewd defense attorney Solomon Tager (Gary
Cole, in a recurring role), who has an ace up his sleeve: a very
surprising witness. In another courtroom, Lindsay (Kelli
Williams) defends a drug-possession suspect whose complex case
turns out to be linked to a murder investigation. Finally,
Eugene (Steve Harris) is reunited with Harland Bassett (Ernie
Sabella), the well-intentioned but bungling lawyer who now seeks
the firm's help in a high-profile civil suit.
