Pub Description

Fiddlers Green Irish Pub occupies the Old Post Office which was built in 1885.  The contractor for the Post Office, M.A. Pigot, built the structure for $32,967.76.  The first postmaster was William Quarie who had living quarters on the top floor which is now believed to be "Emily's" Haunt.

Just after the turn of the century, the new Post Master - William Turnball - was involved in a love affair with a postal employee named Emily.  It is rumored that Emily, frustrated and in despair, threatened to go public with the affair.  Oddly enough, only a few days later, Emily was found dead in the clock tower.  To this day it remains a mystery whether she was murdered or committed suicide.  However, Emily still haunts the clock tower today.  Many patrons and staff have seen her gazing out of the attic windows.

Over the years, the building has been renovated to house this attractive pub.  There are 3 floors of fun which provides space for an antique bar, a dining room, dance club, VIP party room, entertainment (live bands every Thursday - Saturday) and a 2 level deck which overlooks the Grand River.  The menu is quite broad (12 pages), providing traditional pub food and special creations by their chef Martyn.  They also have and extensive list of beers on tap and in bottles.
